There are a large number of packages that create form overlays. Not all
packages do an equal job at creating them. My advice is still to buy 1 copy
each of the 3 or four major form overlay programs. Then use each package to
create the exact same overlay. Download each overlay and test it with
Jetform. If one overlay is significantly faster you save your self some
time. The fact the Jetform might not create the overlay it will end up
using doesn't matter.
You are right, Gary. Creating the overlay using another package other than
the JetForm Design module is possible. The JetForm Print module can
interface any data to a Laserjet resident form overlay.
But recommending us to go out and buy 3 or 4 packages is not a wise
economical move on our part, right?

If you HAVE to cut the print time of your forms you don't have any other
choice! Is $1000 to sample 3 – 4 products worth the potential time savings?
Only you can decide that. Besides, if you have guts you can usually return
the some of the packages and sell the rest off as used. So maybe you're out
$500.
What Windows specific form design apps are you referring to besides
jetForm, Gary? Horizon? Formbase?
Joel
As long as you have one Windows specific form designed you DON'T need
another. Get ANY forms design or overlay generator package. Make duplicate
forms with the other package. Send the duplicate overlays to your laser,
and don't let your Windows form program send its overlays. Then print using
the Windows package. (You are trying a number of different overlays in the
printer. How these overlays are used is unimportant.)
If you are using Jetform designed form overlays, you have concluded that
one needs the JetForm print system to merge data correctly with the
downloaded form for our forms processing data merge printing project.
