I'd recommend getting the Panasonic WV-1410 camera as New-Tek suggests – a
home-quality color camera won't give you anything like the same results.
The lens that comes with it was designed for surveillance, and isn't much
use for digitizing. The camera takes standard "C-mount" lenses – they've
been used on 16mm. film cameras for years, and you can sometimes find a
good-quality one for $25 or so. For average originals, a focal length of
25mm. (the most common one) in a focusing mount works fine. If you can
find a zoom lens, it lets you change the image size without moving the
camera.
If you buy the camera and can't find a lens, I can suggest a couple of
mail-order outfits (yes, we have them for cameras, too!) that have them.

I would like to get best lens for the best resolution possible.
If I get the zoom will I loose some resolution? Do these lenses have F stop
control or is that part of the camera?
I am asking these question because I have this fear that I will travel 20 or 30
miles to review the product and find that the sales person has no idea of what
I am asking.
If I can not locate the lenses you will see me on the board!

Wouldn't worry too much about resolution when buying lenses to use with
Digi-View – the resolving power of the Amiga is limited by the size of the
pixels. Just for fun, I once digitized a standard lens test chart and got
about 8 or 10 lines/mm in 640×400 B&W mode (the chart only went down to 12
lines/mm). Any reasonable C-mount lens (normal or zoom) will give you higher
resolution than Digi-View can use.
The lenses have f/stops – you open the lens up to focus and then go down a
couple of stops to get depth of field. An expensive lens (f/1.2 or f/1.4) is a
lot easier to focus than a cheap one (f/2.8 or so).
Let me know if you have trouble finding one.
