Mike, Continuing the conversation we started over in Aldus. The realization that Quark XPress hyphenation exceptions might be causing layout problems at our SB came to me shortly after I made those comments about XPress spacing problems at the SB CO a couple of weeks ago. Now I've run into another problem. I've been doing some layout of some business agreements. Our legal department insists that the company name, CONCURRENT, be all caps and not hyphenated. Easy, you'd think. Just define CONCURRENT as a hyphenation exception. Well, most of the time, that works, but the occasional occurrence insists on hyphenating. I can't understand it. The only recourse is to insert a <shift-return> before the misbehaving instance. Dave
