I am having problems with the new Supra Modem 2400 I just got. It
isn't letting the phones ring in the house. The unit dose this with the
power on or off. Is there any change to modem I can do to fix this? Could
it be a faltty unit? Any help would be geatly appreciated.

dirk,
i had one fritz out like that after a couple weeks i think the only
wayaround it was unplugging the power supply anyway, sent it in to Supra
and got it back fixed within a week (and i'm on the end of the pony express
trail)
with that kind of response i don't think it's worth dinking with myself
lg
Larry;
Thanks for the help. Supra told me what I had to do to fix it my
self. I am up and running now. Thanks again.
Dirk

Don;
Supra told me how to fix it my self. It run great now. Thanks for your
help.
Dirk
Dirk, this is a fairly easy problem to fix. It requires clipping a lead
from one component on the circuit board. You can return the modem to Supra
and we will do this for you. If you'd like to do it yourself, I'll give
you instructions, as follows:
1. Remove the ON/OFF knob, the retaining screws from the bottom of the
case,
and the back panel. Then slide the circuit board out.
2. Locate the triac. This component is immediately forward of the phone
line
jacks. It will look like a square box standing on its side, and
supported
by three legs.
3. Clip out the middle leg, so that the triac is only supported by the
legs on
either end.
4. Reassemble and enjoy your modem.
5. Please accept our appologies for the oversight.

Clark;
That did the job. Thanks a lot. It is running like a champ now.
Thanks again.

I use a Supra 2400 at home. No problem like yours. Could be a faulty unit
or could be some software-settable switch in the unit that you have
triggered. Don't have the docs here so I couldn't say. Anyone else think
that could be it?
Ken;
I tryed all the software settable switchs. No help. But Supra told me
how to fix it. Runs great now. Thanks alot for your help.
