I have Viewpoint's Catalog but I'm trying to AVOID spending the $400 they are asking for their T-Rex model. I'm hoping to find one in the PD Realm or at least a Commercial Object for Less than $400.

But of Course. I've got Jurassic Fever shes got Jurassic fever. I think Lee Seiler at Lexicor has some, Guess it's time to visit the Atari Vendor Area and ask him. Thank goodness for CAD 3D converter I bought from Syndesis. Oh Bugger, I forgot to ask John if it's…

REALLY? I didn't know that Rend 24 was a Reincarnatrion of ADAM.
Fantastic! Does Starterm need any stuff from the workbench disk to operate?… Dave
Starterm. So let me get this finally clear. When I boot the program and go to Edit Keys and see no entries they are still available to me?…Dave
I knew there had to be a way, thanks, Jim…Dave
2% Speedup!!! Jeez. Well, I ain't gonna spend $1500 for 2 lousy percent! They sell a 512K static board (I assume it's 32 bits wide) but it costs another $1500 bucks and I ain't gonna spend $1500 bucks for 512K!!! Oh well, CSA claims a 1000% speedup. Somehow, somethings gotta…
Sidecar
Message #44280
On Sidecar — I guess we must have gotten it up here in the Great White North before you guys did on the warm side of the border. We've had our "For sale" ones now for about 2 weeks. The bad part first: $1499 Canadian retail. The thing works just…
Printer drivers
Message #44279
Does anyone have a printer driver for a Star SB-10 Printer? It is the 24 pin model? Leave message at 72456,3365.
Ok, Thanks for your help…..I will try calling CBM to find out what can be done (if anything). If I find out anything I'll post it. Doesn't anyone else program in AmigaBasic or do they just not speak up…Just curious why more fur isn't flying over this problem…Thanks again, DBM
Thanks for the reply!…I will call tommorrow and see if there is anything that can be done…I appreciate your help. DBM
I had one for a while. Unless you are mainly concerned with speeding up floating point, DONT get it without the 32 bit wide fast ram. I had one w/o it, and running flight simulator (very integer arithmetic intensive), with the cache enabled, only got a 2% speedup. This was…
Dave, Yes, copy df1:directory to df2:directory all Don
DAve, It retains the settings and re-calls them when you select that setup from the dial menu. You need a directory called ST.STUFF which is where it is saved on a disk called TERM or STARTERM…I forget which but it is in the starnote. Don
Dunno on the colors yet Kelly. I am checking ComputerLand on the ink, mainly because they asked me to get the printer working for them, and it is their printer. I could always go to Radio Shack, but I don't think they'd like that. Bri
Well… ask me again after the first of the year, after the person to whom I was referring has quit that place — then I'll get you in touch with her for a few amusing stories… – Bela
Sounds depressing, Bela! And just when I was looking forward to having an Amiga Dealer in the area again! (My original dealer, Confuserland of Monterey, went out of business, ya know.) This Rick guy isn't any good, huh? ..Wayne..
Fine Brian, maybe you should check (UGH) Computerland on the ink. Must be some other places to get some, just to get going. You are quite right on the print quality, the IBM is great, loved that condensed super + sub scripts.. I got one for 450 Canadian, they said…
Amiga printers from CBM: MPS-1000 (I've got one of these), MPS-1200 (I think this one needs an extra personality module for Amiga use). Of course, CBM's never been known to sell the best printers in the world, and there's a good reason for this. The MPS-1000 is OEMed from Epson,…

Run Programs
Message #44253
Thanks for your help, Marlene. New Question. After downloading from Compuserve what is the easiest way to run new programs? /ex
Davey, that's a snap! just type the following two lines… makedir df1:c copy c: all to df1:c and that's that. Jim
I'm from CBM, but as I do hardware here, and haven't programmed in BASIC since '79 or so, I'm not going to be any help to you. You best bet would be to call Carolyn Scheppner, in Technical Support here in West Chester (215) 431-9100 ext. 9336. I know she's…
How much experience do you have with Rick? A good friend of mine has worked at Legacy for over 2 years, and, given the stories I've heard, I would >never< buy >anything< from him… – Bela
You are listening to the wrong rumor mill, I think. "told by a dealer that the Sidecar has a 20MB hard disk" — it most definitely does not come with a hard disk. "not … expandable" — the SideCar has 3 unused full-size IBM PC slots. You can use those…
Dave, The files in the Audiophile DL are not "programs" per se; they are in fact data files. As such, these files _must_ be used with a music program (Music Studio, in this case) to be useful. Though I have not scanned the music DLs in the last week or…
#Copying Directories
Message #44236
Don, I've looked through the AmigaDOS manual and can't find an easy way to copy a directory from one disk to another. Is there a way to copy an entire directory (i.e. "c") from the Workbench disk to another disk?…Dave
Music Studio/IFF
Message #44234
Hi, I've been reading your messages about converting Music Studio files to IFF (Instant Music/Soundscape). I have just such a utility which I downloaded from M.A.S.S bbs in Milwaukee. I'll upload it here A.S.A.P. It works, too! I downloaded the CHEERS theme done with MS, and converted it to IFF,…

Message #44232
Don, I've definitely got something screwed up here. What other files do I need on the disk for this thing to retain it's setting? I've tried every conceivable combination of saves and clicks and stuff but it WILL NOT retain the settings. I've set things up as per directions in…
Well sure it's possible. Boing! does it, for one. Though how they do it I don't know. Regards, Larry.
Makes me want to run out and rent one for a few days just to see what I get. Regards, Larry.
Ken, I just tried that command (though not in a startup sequence) and it seemd I seem to recall you saying that it worked with another name? Have you tried to another disk or to RAM: as a test? On a side note, I see you are using my echo…
The Comspec board is not buffered as far as I can tell. All pins on the 86 pin female connector except the config pins are brought directly through the board and soldered directly to the edge connector outboard. Regards, Larry.
#Quietly Opening Windows
Message #44213
Is there a way to open a screen behind Workbench. I want to open windows and prepare the screen before bringing it to the front. Is possible, no? —Mike
Kelly, I am still trying to get INK for my IBM. The IBM has better text than the Canon, so if you can get them for the same price, get the IBm. OR, get the QuadRAM printer. Bri
Ed, never tried 3.03 under 1.2 FINAL, but are using 3.10 with no problems. 3.10 worked under 1.2 Betas and Gammas also. Are you using the 1.2 Includes and Libraries? Bri
#A-Time
Message #44196
George, I do have the reset pin connected to my printer and my A-Time works perfectly. The point I was making was that some printer cables have the reset pin connected to the wrong pin of your printer. In these cases (since you are not using the reset pin anyway)…
Kim, That I can't answer, I don't have a Laser printer, or access to one to try, but from reports from users…the output is fantastic. Maybe someone who has seen one in action will jump in with an answer. Don
Ken, Change that line to read : date > now It _should_ work. Don
#New Dealer
Message #44192
Those of you in the Monterey area, Please note. Rick Ramras owner of Legacy Computers, is now an official Amiga Dealer. He won't have the equipment for a month or so ( he's awaiting the schematics and such from Commodore). When he's all set, he's planning a little get together…
Dave, Ok, you might be stuck with 1.1 for a while then. If I come up with something, I'll let you know. Don

AmigaBasic
Message #44188
I was able to get copies of the 1.2 upgrade package, but my dealer didn't have any more of doc's. In the meantime, could somebody give me a brief rundown on the improvements to Amiga Basic? Thanks. >>Steve.
#laser with Amiga
Message #44187
Great, thanks…do you get nice smoothed 300dpi letters (ala –hate to say it-Laserwriter fonts) or is the text/graphics mix a rough bit-map type affair. If the letters are smooth, does this come through some font plugged into the Laserjet, or does it work with some group (or all?) of fonts…

Greetings, I am interested in buying the CSA 68020/68881 External board and am trying to get in contact with any or all people who have it or have worked with it. I need to know things like: How fast is the systems? How Software/Hardware compatible is it? Did you use…
#IBM Color Jetprinter
Message #44177
Hi, I have an IBM Color Jetprinter 3852-2 and was taking a look at the manual with regards for setting up colours for printing. Well, from what I can tell, this printer only supports 8 colors (Black, Blue, Red, Magenta, Green, Cyan, Yellow, and Neutral(White)). Since this printer has the…
