SCSI drives on the mac do have SCSI ID selection either as a hidden DIP switch or as something more mac-like. Like Amigas, macs use SCSI ID 7 (oh oh is it really 6 Ethan?) for their own so use some other number.. the logucal unit number is the numbe…
Memory Expansion Message #3264
From: Jay Shaffstall AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade November 7, 1990 3:37 PM
I've just purchased a Progressive Peripherals 2 meg expansion card, and have yet to receive it. While I'm waiting, does anyone have any caveats about this particular card that I should be aware of? Jay

Don, Thanks for all the information on SCSI drives. I'll pass this along to my friend and see what happens. He lives about 1,000 miles from me so we do these things by phone ($) and he doesn't have a modem. I'm not even sure the part of Colorado he…
From: Keith E. Coldiron AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade November 7, 1990 7:57 AM
Harry, Thanks for the input, we'll look into that one. I hadn't even thought of it. I did remember the SCSI drives for Mac's using an ID on the drive itself. I tell my friend to look for something on the drive itself. Keith
From: Don Curtis/SYSOP AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade November 7, 1990 1:22 AM
Keith, The A2090(a) handles multiple SCSI drives just fine…I've got 2 on one right now. You are talking about setting LUNs (Logical Unit Numbers)…a couple of things here. First, the A2090 driver software doesn't support LUNs, but 2nd, even if it did support LUNs, you're not using them right. On…

From: WARD E. JOHNSON AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade November 6, 1990 11:22 PM
Betty, thanks, I wasn't sure what was going on. I've used CIS on and off since 1982 and not surprised to see things constantly expand like the universe. Ward
From: Harry Callesis AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade November 6, 1990 6:10 PM
Keith – I believe the 2090A handles multiple SCSI IDs just fine, but it can't handle multiple LUNs off of a single SCSI ID. The SCSI ID is usually set on the drive by a jumper; I'm not familiar enough with the 2090A software-wise to say what's needed in MountList.…

I have a TrumpCard with the Meta 4 board and would like to upgrade to 5 megs. I have to use 1meg x 8 or 9 SIMMS minimum 100ns. My question is, can I order anything that fits that discription like those advertised in Computer Shopper, for instance? I believe…

You should be able to type the file's name and the program will execute. What were you trying to type? If you're getting read/write errors on your disks, it's possible that you're popping the disks out of the drives too quickly. You've got to wait until the light on the…

Michael, There are several programs in the libraries that will decipher those for you. Basically, the first digit tells you whether the problem is fatal or if you can recover (an 8 means fatal). Then, there is information as to which of the Amiga's libraries was involved in the crash,…

MOVSSP.LZH, ANTIFL.LZH, and MSDOS1.LZH are all available in library 11 of AmigaTech. A lot of people around here use the program WHAP! to call CompuServe. It's a program that can automatically log in, get only the messages and files that you want, and then log off. It can also upload…

Tim, this is primarily your dealers fault. He should have known. That's what a dealer is for. Someone posted (I think on usenet) that he had ordered the A3000 and BB via the educational discount plan and that Commodore REJECTED his order for the BB because the two didn't work…

#314 BridgeBoard HELP! Message #320
From: Don Curtis/SYSOP AmigaTech Forum · Talk to the Trade September 12, 1990 12:39 AM
Vic, Those problems mean your BridgeBoard isn't quite seated properly and/or the bus translator chips (the square chips on the Bridgeboard) are not quite tight in the sockets.
