#1M Viper VLB/NT 3.5
Message #99701
I've been trying to get my 1 Meg Viper VLB (Rev. A4) to work with Windows NT 3.5 for the last couple of days with no success. The generic Weitek P9000 drivers _almost_ work…the system boots, but the display is scrambled. In fact, it looks exactly like the old OS/2…
I have a similar problem with NT 3.5. I have a Batman board with bios 1.00.06.af1, Viper PCI bios verions 3.10 and an Adaptec 2940. I have taken the advice of Diamond and upgraded and still NT does not work. I believe Microsoft are working on a fix. What I…
Bill and Bob, I think that you fellows need the E revision Vipers that use 3.13 BIOS. You can arrange for an exchange of the Viper by getting an RMA# from DCS at 408-736-2000 and pressing 7 for tech support. Bruce Herzog Graphics Forum Staff NY 25-Nov-94 at 9:05a DST
You and I have a very similar problem. I also have upgraded to NT 3.5 from 3.1. I can't get the drivers for 3.1 to work with 3.5. I've down loaded the upgrade drivers for viper from Diamonds BBS. NT 3.5 won't accept/recognize this upgrade either. A dialogue box opens…

#Speedstar 64 and NT 3.5
Message #99612
I recently installed a Speedstar 64 in my DECpc 450ST. I'm running Windows NT 3.5 and I'm having some problems with the drivers that come with NT 3.5. Whichever 1280×1024 mode I pick, the display is always interlaced. Yet of the modes listed only one is marked as interlaced. With…

You might want to try the new beta driver that we have just released. The file name for the VLB ios VVL210.exe. I am not aware of DOS box problems with the VLB version of the Viper. What exactly are the problems you are having with them? –Wayne Johnson Diamond…

The Stealth 64 DRAM uses the memory range C000-C800 for the Video BIOS. In Standard VGA mode it uses the range A000-AFFF for the Video Buffer. In text mode it uses the range B800-B7FF for the text buffer. Our card does not normally use memory in the Fxxx range. If…

#SpeedStar InControl?
Message #99394
David, I'm so impressed by the InControl driver environment I downloaded for my Stealth24 at home that I wondered if there might be a future upgrade available for my SpeedStar Pro VLB at work. Any possibility? Thanks, Bob

It works but in the control panel under desktop you need to un-tag the "full drag". If I do not the screen does a slow repaint as you drag a window accross the dispay. When will the new driver be ready? NOTE: I am on a Micron 90 with the…

I would appreciate any help possible. Have downloaded and install ST2430…but the problems continue and a few that I didn't have. Just glancing through messages I guess I am not alone. My first problem was with a windows message about invalid true tupe, and the MS DOS window would not…
>>>The Generic P9000 drivers that ship with Windows NT 3.5 support the Viper VLB and the Viper PCI driver that ships with it supports the Viper PCI. Have you tried either of these drivers? Hi Wayne, the P9000 appears to work fine. I thought that you may come up with…

Message #99226
This is usually caused a an incompatible version of THREED.VBX on your system. There should be only one version of the file on your system in the Windows\System directory — except for a copy with the driver installation. If you have multiple copies of this file on your system the…

And I am having the same problem with flickering, only mine is in most program programs — WordPerfect 6, Windows in Pagemaker and photoStyler. Mine is a light blue flicker. Mine is on a MAGLX1564, so I am not convinced about the pin theory. I too would appreciate assistance. Thanks…

I've had that problem. The NEC plug pins are too small for the 24x card connector. Someone on internet suggested slightly crushing the pins on the NEC cable with a needle nose pliers. *I`m* not suggesting it, just passing it along. I was afraid to try it.
