OK, I called Rexxon/Wang/Tecmar and they confirmed that their tech who said that the 6200 is compatible with the 3100 was not telling the truth. No wonder this doesn't work. Can anyone tell me if Microsoft is considering a driver for these cheapo Wangtek 6200s? (I have MDN L2, is…

I'm having trouble getting a WangDAT 6200 (6130HS) to work under WinNT (9/93) with my Ultrastor 34F. I select the DAT 4mm drive, but it fails to start. The drive works fine on other systems, and when I boot DOS, the controller finds the tape drive (as shown in the…

I know how to change the transfer rate (EISA setup). How do I disable sync? BTW the HP specs say the thing should do synchronous transfers at 5MB/sec. I currently have my transfer rate set a 3.33 MB/sec. There is 1 Reply. Read action !

don't know what to say. I have a maxtor 1240S and it works very well. likewise I am using a 1542cf without trouble. You have sync, parity and all set for the drive? one thing is possible, if you have a mixed bus, there can be conflcits of I/O time…

Bob, I have tried to put the paging file on a different harddrive (an ordinary IDE drive which is my boot drive) and then everything works smoothly. When I put the paging file on the SCSI drive (Maxtor) the system almost stops and the event log reports error 11 all…

wehn you state that NT runs slowly, do you have more than 16 megs of ram of system? The error you see in event log is probably an error 11. Both the 1542C and the maxtor 1240S work fine in NT. There is 1 Reply. Read action !

I have installed an Adaptec 1542C SCSI controller and have an external Maxtor XT-MXT-1240S 1.2GB FSCSI-2 harddrive connected with a 1 yd cable. NT runs very slow and the Eventlog reports "The driver detected a controller error on". What is happening? Is there a problem with the Adaptec board or…
