Luke, I too have had the Transporter recommended to me, for the benefits of sequential frame grabbing, etc. But, all you need to render animations are the Toaster, the 9650, a serial cable, and a null modem adapter. It works. Quickly, quietly, with quality. Jerry

Jonathan, The only problems I have seen with dropout is on some large surfaces with lots of solid, bright red colors. I've also not had time to tinker with the enhancement features of the machine, which may very well solve the minor problems I have seen. Jerry

Luke, I would assume that the RECORD side of the 9700 is probably quite similar to the EV0-9650, and my new 9650 works like a charm with LW. Renders animation without a single frame controller, very fast, very quiet. Quality of the recorded video is great. Jerry
