From: Gary S. Cooper Amiga User Forum · Emulations November 23, 1994 11:33 AM
Bruno, I did in fact read the manual, my concern comes from the statements on pages D-19 and D-20 of the Adaptec EZ-SCSI manual where using the /h option with the ASPI.SYS command is discussed. This option is listed as a group 1 option and on the same page the…

From: Gary S. Cooper Amiga Tech Forum · Amiga UNIX August 10, 1994 11:54 AM
Jerry, Amiga UNIX 2.1 was designed for the 68030 processor, it will not run on a 68040 ( I know from experience about this one – I could either have Amiga UNIX OR my PPS 68040 running, I chose the 040 ). The disks are the boot/root needed for installation…

Im not so sure about that – one mail order dealer is selling a UNIX 2.1 upgrade kit, they advise that UNIX 1.1 must be installed for the upgrade to work. The 2.1 tape seems to expect certain directories to already exist on the hard drive, it seems to be…

Shane, My system does the same, if I reboot the bridgeboard amouse and atime are found and work perfectly. Seems that the two systems don't achieve some sort of needed "sync" when the Amiga is cold started, rebooting the MSDOS side seems to clear the problem up. If you find…

#138406 #A2386 CPU Upgrade Message #138409
From: Gary S. Cooper Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX April 8, 1994 1:30 AM
Bill, The chip I added was a Cyrix 387 math coprocessor, this was in addition to the Cyrix 486SXR2 upgrade chip. The math coprocessor went in the empty chip carrier on the Bridgeboard, the upgrade chip went on top of the existing 386SX chip.

From: Gary S. Cooper Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX April 6, 1994 10:45 AM
Can't see how you would do that – the 386 chip is surface mounted and I sure would not want to risk cooking a board to dig one out. If you use the correct Cyrix upgrade you will still be looking at a Norton SI of around 53 which is…

Tim, You can do it easily by ordering the Cx486SRx2 20/40 upgrade kit, it will clock double the chip internally to 40Mhz. The kit for the 25 Mhz SX386 will not work with a 20Mhz BridgeBoard, make sure you order the right kit. If you have specific questions just let…
#137381 A2386 CPU Upgrade Message #137390
From: Gary S. Cooper Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX March 29, 1994 8:53 AM
The upgrade is approximately $260 depending upon where you buy the chip, Norton SI figures indicate it is about twice as fast as a 33 mhz 386DX. My total cost was $318 including a math coprocessor and shipping charges.

Bruno, The entire process was quite easy, I ordered the Upgrade from ElekTek in Chicago plus a Cyrix 387SX math coprocessor upgrade. The Cyrix upgrade chip is their CX486SRX2, it is the only one that will work with the Bridgeboard ( 20 or 25 megahertz no problem, if you have…
