John: The reason you don't see nifty R3000 accelerators for PCs is that Pentiums are already faster than R3000's. You'll generally find that it's cheaper to buy a secondr pentium than a Mac accelerator board. Regards the i860 – it is an end-of-life chip. Intel's killing it.

Under DOS, you can use the BusLogic DA-2988 SCSI/RAID controller to get striping, giving you double normal throughput. Unfortunately, you can't do the same thing with IDE. I don't know of any IDE drives which implement striping.

Mathew: Some computers are brain dead, and have a hard time with more than 16 MB or so without a memory manager. If you had one of these, the memory manager would definitely speed things up. Don't sweat it — you're setup is fine. Evan
