I am quite into the idea of such a screen saver but the one I downloaded would only play one FLI repeatedly. I want one that will allow me to chain a number of FLI/FLC files with perhaps some GIF/TGA/JPEG stills. Any suggestions? Phil

I don't know if you follow the same practice as elsewhere on CIS in that threads are sometimes retitled and moved to reflect their true contents but I certainly wish you did. I don't come onto the forum very frequently but I just downloaded a thread re 3DS books in…
I have Stacker (v2) and it works fine – BUT – there is a time penalty in reading and/or writing lots of data. I can't say how it affects 3DS because I had Stacker before 3DS. I'd say the time trade was worth not buying another 300Mb disk Phil
Phil (names could get confusing here), I AM the dealer. I bougt via distributor and got the *old* version – sorting it out was tedious – particularly from my client's point of view. Having said that once we got into the swing the distributor pulled out all stops and did…
Thanks – but the situation was that when I purchased (for a client) r2 was available – I was supplied r1. It has now all been resolved thanks to the distributor. (I regret to say that Autodesk weren't terribly helpful to start with, although that may have been lack of…
I thank you. Downloading will now commence…… regards, Phil
I've asked Autodesk UK for an urgent shipment of mine – I don't want to start on V1 and find I have to change my ways. I'll call you soon. regards, Phil
One small problem is that Chaos covers a wide range of interest – not just pretty computer generated pictures! There is activity elsewhere – the Science forum, Comart etc. Unfortunately, the umpteenth time you've draw a Mandelbrot set or Julia set or… it starts to pall. And with the best…
I passed Blackfriars bridge in a taxi only 2 hours ago – if I'd known I could have waved to your friend for you…..
Many thanks for the offer – my office is on the corner of Tower Bridge – I may just take advantage! (I have got it working – now all I have to do is spend the rest of my life playing with it!) I'm not going to get too serious…
Yes indeed – removing the rubbish really does work! I've got through tutorials 1-3 so far – just wish I understood them . Typical UK though, they released v2 yesterday – mine was despatched on Friday – so now I have to wait for the update. You appear to be…

#Stacker + 3ds problem?

Hi Martin, It's cats and dogs today – how was it swimming in the mountains? (or did you go skiing on the beach, I can't remember ). I have a small RAMdisk of 256K which I can remove. Before I do so I'm going to try and install on my…
Its a 20Mhz m/c. I shouldn't think that's a problem . Phil
Ex Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher puts "Yes Prime Minister" down as her favourite show too…… regards, Phil
A Tory Democrat!! You will be delighted to know that our Easter holiday (Friday-Monday) has a weather forecast of cold and wet with snow in high places. Swimming indeed… Have a good holiday, Phil
Dave, Absolutely no offence taken. My feelings were that – yes, most of Britain wanted a change – unfortunately they weren't happy with the change they were offered. As I believe that the politicians don't really matter anyway (because most of the decisions which affect the population are taken by…
Jack, Thanks for clearing up my confusion. However, if I may pursue something (and you'll have to pardon my ignorance) do I take your reply to mean that I couldn't design, say, a kitchen in 3Ds and then "animate" it? Or could I do it without great detail or would…
Sorry Martin, I was trying to remember something I'd seen written down. What I'd read was "3D model created in AutoCAD and transfered into 3D Studio….". My assumption was that AutoCAD was an Autodesk product because it sounds like one! Regretably I called it Autodesk in error. What was unclear,…
But it could have been "cold, wet, Labour England". That really would have made us shiver! regards, Phil
Martin, greetings from a cold, wet England. Thanks for responding. I have Animator – although I don't use it very much. Is 3D capable of a realistically fast playback on the computer? Or do you *have* to output frame by frame to video? I read somewhere about Autodesk being used…
What's in 3D?

I've recently seen a demo of 3D – and very pretty it was. I have some questions which I'd love answers to – if you know them (!) Is 3D a standalone product or are other products requisite? How much is it? Where is it available from? And, subjectively, how…
