Mitsumi Device Errors
Message #50690
Hi Robert, strange. I received only ONE message I replied to. See ORDER.TXT in LIB#10 for further details. Torsten
Hi Mike, the problem with the M06 appears due a timing change. As TESTDRV.EXE uses many delays it seems to work this way. I think there's nothing you could do to solve this problem. Bye, Torsten
Hi Mike, this message is not completly correct so far. The drives you are referring to are manufactured in March and April and our driver reports M06! These drives SUPPORT Photo-CD and we are working on a OS/2 support also. Bye, Torsten
Hi Dan, there's a new update UPDAT3.ZIP in CDROM Lib#1 (possibly the sysop already moved it to LIB#3). Torsten
Hi Erhard, the latest firmware release is 1.09. If you have the Adaptec ASPI4DOS driver you can include /D on the command-line and the complete vendor/product ID including the firmware revision will be displayed. The Trantor drivers also displays these infos. Bye, Torsten
Hi David, as the MSCDEX specification includes the interface to the low-lewel device driver for the CD-ROM drive you should also upgrade this device driver to work with MSCDEX 2.X (Version 1.X supports High Sierra only). Bye, Torsten
OS/2 and Mitsumi LU005S
Message #48098
Hi Rich, a new update is waiting . Bye, Torsten
Hi "Neuromancer",
Brian, on the left side of all Mitsumi drives there's a Compact Disc logo. If you can feel it with your finger it's a LU005S. The LU002S has the logo printed on the plane panel. The MTMCDD.SYS version for the LU005S is >=2.0, for the LU002S
Hi Bill, within each sector (2352 bytes) which is transfered over the bus there are 12 sync bytes…. A modified firmware is necessary to supress these bytes. Bye, Torsten
Hi Charles, see my message to Rick Dickens. Bye, Torsten
Hi Rick, this bug is fixed. Look for "UPDAT1.ZIP" in LIB3. Bye, Torsten
Hi Gary, thanks for the info regarding the older LU002. We haven't worked on this drrive yet. AUDIO: It's right that you can't change tracks right now. That's due to the fact that the drive doesn't support a TOC command directly. We will have to create it by the Q-Channel.…

Texel Multisession
Message #42042
Hi Bill, which version do you have ? A have 1.04, 1.06, 1.07, 1.07K and 1.9. I haven't tried 1.9 yet but with 1.7 it didn't work with OS/2. Bye, Torsten
Hi Robert, the T130 is the one and only controller which supports multi-session with the "upgraded" Texels yet. It works great in normal CD-ROM mode, even in reading multi-session Photo-CDs. Bye, Torsten
Hi, I've already "upgraded" several Texels DM-3024 to multi-session capability. It's only the ROM-Chip which has to be replaced. The firmeware still have a few bugs. That's why it takes some days for the final release. But the most important thing is: The TEXEL DM-3024 CAN read multi-session Photo-CDs!!! Bye,…
Adaptec 1542b & SCSI
Message #37804
Hi Jerry, have you installed the latest BIOS-Upgrade on your controller as the 1542B only supports drives with a maximum of 1 GB ? The new BIOS (the same as on the 1542C) supports drives greater than 1 GB. Bye, Torsten
Hi Paul, is there a reason why Kodak's Access Software doesn't allow to load PCDs from other media than CD-ROM, e.g. a Syquest ? As I've heard Coreldraw 3.0b and Micrografix Designer 3.1 will allow this. Torsten
Hi Matt, as I think I haven't explained it correctly to Kelly Fraser, here is a new try: Let's assume two "multi-session" CD-ROMs: the Kodak Photo-CD and the one written on a CDD521 with a normal ISO-Formatter like Philips' CDWRITE or WIN-On-CD (which I'd like to call "multi-partition" as I…
Hi, we had the chance to test Texel's multi-session capability (DM3024) and it's great. The firmware still has a few bugs but no big things. Bye, Torsten
Hi Ilardi, the driver isn't ready yet. As soon as it's ready I'll post a message in this forum. The developping companies haven't decided yet how the driver is distributed. Bye, Torsten
Hi Albert, There's a beta-driver for the Philips CM205 to be used with OS/2. Torsten

Hi Paul, we are pleased to tell you that we can provide single-session drivers for the following old-fashioned CD-ROM drives: Hitachi 1503,3500,3600 NEC CDR 84 Mitsumi LU002S! Several others are in the process of being tested. Bye, Torsten
Hi Martin, we offer a new driver for the Philips CM205 to read Photo-CDs. I'll send you some infos by EMail. Bye, Torsten

Photo CD Question
Message #31461
Hi Matt, >>A: In theory, the first session of a PhotoCD could be read by most standard CD-ROM drives if the proper device driver were written for them. In fact, it's very difficult to write such a driver. >> BTW, we developed such a driver for the "Not Photo-CD compatible"…
Hi Rich, the definition for a mixed-mode disc is that it starts with data on track one and is followed by one or more audio tracks. If you play data on the speaker it's possible that the speaker will get damaged. Bye, Torsten
Hi David, every record process on a double-speed CD-WO machine takes approx. half the time of the playtime printed on the media, e.g. it takes 30 minutes to cut off a CDR-63 and approx. 36 min for a CDR-73. As the Orange Book Part-II is a "kind of extension" of…
Hi Georg, the Toshiba XM3301B can read single-session Photo-CDs as far you have a XA-capable driver like the CorelSCSI. BTW, we offer a German version of a Photo-CD access program.
