#196917 3DS r4 driver/Matrox Message #197269
Patricia, I have used MGA Ultima+ video cards before and haven't had a problem running resolutions up to 1152×882 with 3DS4. Your message didn't include the size and type of monitor you are using, but if you have a small monitor (14" or 15") you might be limited by it's…
Richard. Type "GO MATROX" and you'll find yourself in the "Graphics B Vendor" Forum where you can locate & download the video drivers you need. Last time I checked, the drivers for the Mellenium cards were being updated fairly often, so they probably have a pretty recent upload. Tim F.

Thanks for the message, Kelly. Fortunately I just received my first issue yesterday, and I'm impressed with the content. 3D Design is definitely geared towards 3D Studio animators. So long… Tim Fairbanks

>I'm _trying_ to check out 3D Design. Got an offer for a free trial issue, sent it back in. (Weeks ago.) Haven't gotten free issue yet, but they were real quick to send a bill! Anybody else still waiting?< Yeah, I'm still waiting!
#194412 3DS with Matrox Message #194476
I would concur that the older drivers provide almost instant switching between modules when using Matrox Ultima+ and Impression+ boards. Conversely to some of the other postings in this thread I have had serious module-switching problems with Diamond Stealth 64 and Stealth Video 64 boards with 4MB VRAM. I run…

Thanks for the response on Plant Materials, Tim. I have tried using the "cardboard" technique in animation I'm presently working on, but some of the scenes involve a fly-by of a building with several plants and trees located right next to it, so this technique doesn't hold up very well.…

Thank you for the concise response, Eron. The messages I've posted regarding Razor Pro and the PAR have drawn several responses over the last week which have all helped to dissipate any confusion I may have had about how Razor interfaces with the PAR. Part of my misunderstanding of the…

Thanks for the info, Tony. I've got a Sound Blaster 16 that's heading for the 'dumpster! I've been anicipating having to ditch it sooner or later. By the way, do you know of any mail order suppliers for Razor Pro? I'd prefer to avoid the list price from in:sync if…

Thanks for the reply to my questions about Razor Pro, Mark. The description of your process is pretty helpful. I still have a question about how Razor sends animated footage and sound to video tape, though. The main reason I was asking about whether or not a TBC is needed…

I'm considering buying Razor Pro for editing 3D Studio animations, but I had a couple questions regarding the use of a TBC-IV board. I use a PAR board right now to record & output to S-video, but I'm confused about how it will work with Razor Pro. Any replies would…
Thanks for the prompt response, Greg!. I received another response from "-G" at Yost group that pretty well mirrored your info. Although I may not have phrased my question as acurately as I could have, I was curious if more RAM was necessary if several processors in a multiple-CPU PC…
…Just a couple of questions regarding Network rendering and the forthcoming 3D Studio MAX for Windows NT. I realize that 3DS MAX is not available until Q1 1996, but any answers to the following questions would be appreciated: How will Network rendering be handled with MAX? Will it be necessary…
