#amigabasic Message #4983
From: Ed Martie Forum unknown · Software January 12, 1986 11:05 AM
I have a feeling that the eagerly awaited MS Basic has left everyone a little 'cold'. I know it has me. It's a powerful basic alright but MS's effective limiting of this wonderful 32 or 16 color graphics machine to a default 4 color med-res mode with no easy way…

Pascal Message #1120
From: Ed Martie Forum unknown · Software December 10, 1985 1:52 AM
Bela, Just wondered if you or Borland had a chance to look over Amiga Pascal by Metacomco, and what you thought of it. I've worked with a few days now, while pulling a few more hairs out! They've got a weird (again!) way of running a program that uses disk…

Just received the first of the 3rd party software today at my local dealer in Ohio. First two titles to arrive were Activision's adventure games, "Mindshadow", and "Hacker". Both were specified to run on 256K machines and both use Ver. 1.0 of dos. Noticed that the write-protect was not on…

Paul, I didn't upload the address file, since the addresses I keep wouldn't mean anything to anyone else. I thought each user could create his own address file according to his own needs. If your getting an error in line 1815 then apparently you haven't create your own address file…
#42334 sending text Message #42353
From: Ed Martie Music/Graphics · Amiga Connection November 19, 1985 8:07 PM
Bela, I agree about xon/xoff. I'm using my Amiga with the EZ-term prog. from DL7. Looking at it the other nite, (morning?) there is a way to detect those ctrl chars and cause a pause, so I may try implementing it. Another thing we need is a filter for received…

the problem with uploading text files to CIS using no protocol is not entirely AMiga's fault. It is CIS's problem as well. I'm only sending at 300 baud, but believe it or not, CIS would not accept my sending of 15K basic program at the speed the AMiga was sending.…
#Okimate-20 printer Message #12840
From: Ed Martie The Commodore Forum · AmigaDOS/Intuition November 15, 1985 10:28 PM
If you were referring to the parallel Okimate-20 printer with white lines in the graphics printout, my manual says switch 5 is NOT used for anything. Regardless, turning switch 5 'on' did not remove the white lines and I doubt that a Rom change will either. After taking the printer…
