If you were referring to the parallel Okimate-20 printer with white lines in
the graphics printout, my manual says switch 5 is NOT used for anything.
Regardless, turning switch 5 'on' did not remove the white lines and I doubt
that a Rom change will either. After taking the printer apart, it's my opinion
that the white lines are caused by slop in the line feed gearing. The gears
have a lot of backlash in them as do some other internal parts.
The Epson JX-80 on the other hand does just the opposite. The last dot in a
line of graphics overlaps the first dot in the next line. Any solution to that
problem? If you look at the cover photo on the front of the Oki manual, even
their picture has white lines in it.
