SBPro4 Upgrade Message #40943
Pat, My upgrade has arrived, and seems to work fine. Lots of the sillies with the original release are definitely fixed. Thanks Graham
SBPro Mail Message #40429
Nearly 4 weeks ago you said you were putting a new version of SBPro in the mail for me. It hasn't reached me yet – did it actually get sent out ?

I notice that CygnusEd 2.12 opens its screen as public (CygnusEdScreen1) under WB2.04. If I try to use this public screen however (open a window on it, manipulate it via PublicS utility etc), it doesn't work (the window opens on the Workbench screen, the utility says the screen has disappeared).…

I'm in Eton – in a little road off the High Street. You probably cycled past the end of it… Oh well – if you visit Oxxi UK again… (& unlike them, I do have a modem 😉 ) Cheers Graham

Pat, I remember you were out to England, and wasn't expecting an instant response. I do realise problems do happen – especially when one company takes over from another – the important thing is willingness to take action to solve the problem – look forward to receiving the mail. Shame…
SBPro4 Upgrade Message #39092
Pat, Round about the middle of March I asked you about getting the automatic upgrade to SBPro4 (1.01), you looked in your database, found I wasn't there, added me, & said to get in touch with Oxxi UK for the upgrade. In the intervening time I have written to Oxxi…

Bill, Ah – good point – yes I do. I've defined a new DH device now for my ARexx debug console, and it's working fine. Thanks very much – this is definitely going to help me a lot with the 'Oh it went wrong – how can I reproduce it'…

Bill, Sorry, I didn't explain the symptoms clearly. I have been using just the AUTO option: what happens is that if I then use the close gadget, it closes the console OK. When I get another error or more trace info, the console re-opens, displays previous messages, but doesn't display…

Both those work perfectly – thanks very much – that's really going to make my life a lot easier when I'm tracing. One further thing I'm afraid – having tried GLOBALCON with an AUTO option, I find that I can close the tracing console using the close gadget: however the…

Bill, I've been trying for a while to get TRACE BACKGROUND to work – is there a trick to it ? So far, when I've tried it, it appears to trace normally if TS is used. And is there any way of getting TCO to work with a WShell (DHOpts)…

How about having your macro open up a message port, and terminating if it gets sent a message ? Use the ARexx support functions OpenPort to set up the message port, and GetPkt to see if you have been sent a message. Cheers Graham

Pat, Thanks for quick reply. Knowing how my name ends up when it's been copied from a card, anything from Waters to Walker wouldn't surprise me in the least :-). I'll E-Mail you my SuperBase serial no and address – I'd rather not phone, as I'm based in the UK.…

>Michael, you should have received a FREE update to version 1.01 by now. Have >you sent your registration in? Pat, should I deduce from this that as I haven't got an update to v 1.01 I'm not in the database of registered users ? (I did get my v1.0 direct…

The specifications of ANIM files can be found in the Addison-Wesley manuals. There is an (old) anim player on Fish 96, including source. I've hacked that around a bit myself – it works find on DPaint anims, but the code is a bit tricky in places. Cheers Graham

I've just got the most recent version (2.12) of CED, & found that, as you say, ED has changed: it appears to be identical functionally to the old (ie version 1 ED), although it is not absolutely identical (a few bytes different in size). I found this a major bugbear,…
