Microsoft Viewer SDK is quite cheap, no royalties. It has a search engine and whatever else they needed for the Encarta encyclopedia built in.

Frank, Viewer is a Microsoft product. It's what they've used to build Cinemania, the MS Developer's CD, and Encarta. Steven — One thing you might be able to do is to use /E on the MSCDEX to put its buffers into expanded mem. Other than that, fiddling with 386max MAXIMIZE is the only other way I know to free up low mem. — Samuel
