Harris & Tuttle's book "Geology of National Parks" has what I would call thorough summaries of all aspects of the geology of Olympic, North Cascades, and Crater Lake and Ranier, including glaciation, but it may still be less than you want. Its a good book though. Regards, Dick Gibson

Hi — I've seen lots of quartz xls in southern Indiana geodes with the pseudo-cubic habit — they're really Doug's suggestion No. 2, rombohedral terminations. Sometimes they get encrusted with chalcedony, which gives (I guess) pseduo-cubic pseudomorphism!! Regards, Dick G.
