#Corel CD Manager Message #87285
From: Steve Garman Corel Forum · Customer Service November 18, 1993 9:22 PM
Iave seen another user with a program called (I think) Corel CD Manager. Is this is a seperate program or should it have been bundled in with 4.0? If not a part of 4.0, how much is ita nd what is it designed to do that CD4.0 won't do? Thanks!

Since you can't get much of a bargain on CD-Romware apart from buying a drive, when it's time to buy that second unit, you've got to make a good choice! What seems to be the "best" bubdle? I want a fast throughput drive with a decent cache, CD caddies and…

I wouldn't try "bartender's Friend." It is incredibly abrasive and would probably make a new and even wider groove in your CD.

Why is Greg, sending a message to Trantor Systems telling them what their phone number is? Hmmmmm, curious! 🙂

Is this upgrade an "official" product released by Sony or a third party upgrade strictly from Trantor Systems. IOW, could I buy it from any Sony dealer? Is $39 the suggested Retail Price or a Trantor discounted price?

Can anyone who owns it tell me what happens on the MS Beethoven's 9th CD other than the music? How is it presented? Does it start and stop, is it a lesson in music hsitory, entertainment, what? Is it worth the money or more of a one time demo sort…

John, I'm curious as to what is cost to CIS from Switzerland? If you don't mind sharing. Also, what network do you call in on? Are you connected to a CIS node or some other communications network that then accesses CIS? I know you'll be happy with the Sony package.…

John, PC-Magazine, highly respected over here for their objectivity, gave the Sony package their "Editor's Choice" which is equivalent to a "best buy" from Consumer Reports. To quote from their ratings, "The Sony CDU-7205 delivers the best value of the drives we tested….the CDU-7205 is the best choice for a…

Dale, If you don't mind sharing, where are you buying your CD Sierra games and for what kind of prices, say, Stellar 7 and the Jones Game. Thanks! There is 1 Reply.

Beware if you buy the Sony LaserLibrary of the fact that the program, although it installs into windows and make six cute little icons, cannot run as a windows application. They will only run as a DOS application in windows. This means that you won't be able to pull down…

John, Children are reason enough for caddies! If you don't have them then you probably don't need caddies! The defense rests!

And then some! They don't compare exactly but I paid $549 for the Sony Package and I believe the Dak external drive package (with same Sony drive) was $699. There is 1 Reply.

I'm not sure caddies cost more than the discs! I paid $12 for the Sony caddies I have and the data disks that go in them are in the $60-$200 range each. I didn't buy the sony data outfit to hear Elton John sing. There is 1 Reply.

Greg, It must be ready for multimedia since the Mammals disk is about as multimedia as anybody gets these days! I also bought the Sony set yesterday but haven't set it up yet, been too busy at work. My salesman convinced me that the caddies are the Phillips license standard…

A salesman told me when I complained about the nuisance of caddies on the Sony CD-Rom system that, "Caddies are the future. If someone has one without caddies they have an older unit. Phillips has licensed the standard for multimedia CD-Rom and the standard they wrote has caddies as a…

Greg, If you wouldn't mind? There are supposed to be 6 CD's in this set. Is that how many you got? Would you mind listing the titles or contents on the six CD's? Thanks very much. You say it IS ready for the next generation of multimedia? Does it use…

If they were new about $50 each. The trouble with auction tape is why most pros won't touch it. You don't know whether it sat out on a frozen loading dock overnight, or whether is was in a 160 degree boxcar for several days. Any of which could affect its…
