You may have a problem with an unbalanced output from the XLR to miniplug connector. You should make sure that you have an impedance matching transfer built into the XLR connector and that everthing is grounded correctly.
Now I remember looking at the GVP card before. What I did not like about it was that it only had composite out. The nest higher card. the one with S-video out was too expensive. I did not realize that they went out of business.

Thanks for the feedback on the Sony SEG. I'm glad you rate it so well. I would like to incorporate this SEG with my EZV2 program since I can control it through the VISCA interface, something that I cannot do with the MX1. I'll read the library info as well.

Ray, I have had similar problems with the Vdeck when running on GoldDisk's Videodirector. After much confusion and frustration, I found that I had to reset the Vdeck by physically unplugging the power cord for a few seconds. This has always recovered a "hung" condition for me. Good luck!
