#ATI Mach 64
Message #150405
Can anyone help with this rather perplexing problem? I have a Mach 64 PCI card and I can't run studio without configuring the vibrant drivers everytime I go into it! I downloaded the newest drivers from Vibrant and it still does it. Also, I exchanged the card thinking it was…
Are you using an IFL to get the frames from the PAR? Try that and it should work. CR

Could you add a metaform option to the modeler? I have to use Lightwave on an Amiga (gasp!) to get the organic forms I need. I would like to stay within studio, but I may have to get Lightwave for the PC when it comes out.

#DRAGON LORE – 3D Studio?
Message #145103
You are right, Mindscape used 3D Studio for Dragon Lore. I think that they ran out of time and had to get the game out too fast. If you want to see better 3D Studio animated characters see "Cyberia" by Interplay and "bioforge" by Origin.
I have some problems loading all my stuff and the PAR driver too. I went around this by making several boot-up options, DOS 6 makes it easy, I use DOS 5. Try creating a boot option that just includes the necessary NET files and the PAR driver. Let me know…
Thanks Gary! Your advice really helped out. BTW the version of spurt I am using is 1.01. Also, when I set chaos above 50 some of the particles streams still flow to the right. This was not a big problem due to a base object obscuring them. Thanks again, Chris…

I am trying to recreate a volcano type of explosion with spurt. However I do not get particle that fall to either side of the blast, they curve slightly to the right. Also, how do you get just one big blast and not several cycles of spurting? For my settings…
The PAR is manufactured by DPS (Digital Processing Systems). As far as I know there have been no articles written about this amazing peice of hardware. I have been using it for about five months and have helped to kick it around some in the Beta stage. If you want…
wish list: lighting, etc
Message #84699
Why not have lighting setups in terms of candlepower or lumens? I have heard from some users creating set designs and they could really use this type of info. Also, please fix the scaling arrows for the mapping icon. I always get confused when the icon is rotated and the…
#DPS PAR

I've only tried composite and S-video output, but I think the quality is great. Greg and I are in the process of trying to do a head to head comparison of the PAR and the Sony LVR-3000n. I'll let you know the outcome. Chris R.
#MAX & PAR – Testing
Message #83351
Your wish is my command. Actually I was planning on doing a short animation using captured video from a Sony TR-81 Hi-8 camcorder. If the baby cooperates this weekend I should have the animation done by next weekend. BTW its a video greeting card for the relatives, but I wouldn't…
How about adding rotoscoping to the testing parameters. Greg and I are doing that already! Chris R.
