I can't get the DPS MCI driver to work in Win 95pre. Has anyone else tried to access the PAR through the Media Player in Windows 95? Steve
Par MCI Win95 Message #166554
Has anyone had success getting the media player in Windows 95b to read off the Par drive? Media player reports that it can't find the file, then causes a GPF. Steve
#166342 Win 95 & 3DS & PAR Message #166517
Here's an update. 3ds is rendering to the PAR while I'm online here and using Photoshop. All seems to work quite well. Still can't get the Par Mci driver to work though. Steve
#166322 #Win 95 & 3DS & PAR Message #166342
Larry, Yes, it seems to work fine in VESA, VGA and Vibrant 16 color mode. Render is set as Vibrant 640x480x16m colors and it works fine, just not main display and materials. Does anybody know if there is there a way to work around this? Maybe by excluding memory addresses?…
#166289 Win 95 & 3DS & PAR Message #166309
Hi, Yes, that's the first thing I did, some of the ideas were useful. I've also been to the Win95 forum. Getting an answer is tough because there are many questions but few knowledgeable sources. I still need help resolving the vibrant driver problem and the PAR drive showing drive…
#Win 95 & 3DS & PAR Message #166247
Hello All, I just installed Final Beta Windows 95. Installation was a breeze as it recognized all of my hardware, but I have had some problems running 3ds3 and the PAR that I would like to share with you. Maybe somebody has some suggestions on fixing them. 1- Vibrant Drivers…
I would like some info on the Par Ipas package. I'm also seriously considering a Razor or Premiere App to complement my system. I have your book Inside 3D Studio, use it, and value your opinion enough to ask if you happen to have any recommendations for a budding freelancer?…
Greg, Thanks for the info. it's a real shame they're incompatible. I supposed that's good for the IPAS guys eh? Steve
#PAR Shell within 3DS3 Message #162164

#151316 #DPS Par and OS/2 Message #151369
Peter, You need to make a Virtual DOS session. Instructions for this can be found in two places. 1- The PAR BBS has a txt file explaining how to do this. 2- The OS/2 Users Guide has directions on page 116. The PAR instructions are better because because they show…
#150324 Hello Phoenix, AZ!! Message #151366

#PAR trails Message #139509
From: Steven D. Graber Autodesk Multimedia Forum · IPAS Usage December 3, 1994 10:27 AM
I have a PAR that misbehaves. When I click on anything woth clicking on, Play, Stop, Split, etc… my mouse leaves white "droppings" there. This overwrites the display and looks terrible. Is there a way to teach my mouse to doody on his own time? 🙂
#139158 LQ-4000 vs PAR Message #139503
I'm assuming we're talking about which machine, LQ or PAR is better for each format? From what I've seen and been told about my PAR output at the local Post house, my recent output quality is way, way up now that I'm taking the PAR down there. I take the…
#138841 #Cirrus Logic Drivers Message #138860
Jeremy I've tried that one, it's ok for main-display but that driver only goes 256 colors. It's the 543x driver I'm loking for though, not the 542x. Might there be another Mfg driver i can use in it's place? Steve – Vivid
#Cirrus Logic Drivers Message #138791
Help! I've got a Cirrus Logic AL G543x Accelerator 2mb Dram in my system and would like to use a Vibrant driver. It's not listed in Vibcfg. Is there another card I can substitute for it? I'm using the VESA driver now, but I just *know* there must be a…
#138526 LQ-4000 vs PAR Message #138744
Hi Mike, I've been using an LQ-4000 as well as the TQ-3031F (write once Panasonic lasers) for about 2-1/2 years. they are solid machines. Last week I purchased a PAR and I can, without ANY doubt say that the PAR blows the LQ-TQ's away. I've always been a little annoyed…

Jeffrey, Thank you kindly for the info! I'm off to the local BookStar to order this, and two other books suggested by Bryce Whiteside. Thanks again. 🙂 Steve G. (VIVID) P.S- 1 week in business for myself and I've already got 3 animation jobs! MOST COOL!
Does anyone have generic information on how to write contracts for freelancing 3-d animations? I'm looking for legalese and pricing info. I haven't the first clue and would really appreciate some guidance! 🙂 Thanks Steve G.
