I would like to know if Lightwave is a recommended software for VLAB-M users. I presently have Image FX and TV paint which comes with the RETINA, and DPAINT 4. Will lightwave offer me much more than I have already? What version is know available for the Amiga? thanks Bryan

Is there a more user friendly software other then Samplitude that will work with the toccata sound card. The documentation supplied with samplitude is vague.

Rendering time seems to be the biggest downfall for the VLAB-M system. Can you preview a rough idea of what the transition looks like? Can you not set up all your transistions and let them all render throughout the night or when you away from the computer.

Yes, I'm getting the Magnum 040 with the SCSI 11 controller. Hopefully this will be fast enough. I was going to bypass workbench 3.1 for my Amiga 2000, however I think now that I'll purchase it. Does 3.1 have a more MAC-LIKE desktop ? You mentioned emplant, can the amiga…

I'm in the process of purchasing a VLAB-M system. I'm very impressed at how popular this product has become. I would like to know if is advisable to upgrade from workbench 2.1 to 3.1 ?

I'm gradually setting up a VLAB system myself and I,ve recently acquired the toccatta 16 bit sound card and the documentation is dreadful. Is there any other tutorial or reference available, and is the manual for VLAB just as vague? BP

Is the rendering time quite long? I.ve read that there has been an improvement in this area. Also, is your final video quality as good as analog (linear). Bryan

I'm interested in setting up a VLAB motion non linear editing suite. With all the other products available on other platforms how does VLAB stand up to them? There appears to be no technical support for this product on compuserve and I do not what to invest in an anachronism.…

That sounds very good. Does this mean there may be some future for the Amiga or perhaps an Amiga clone. I'm considering purchasing VLAB motion for the Amiga, and I would like to think that I'm investing into something with a future.

Did anyone have the opportunity to see Macrosystems new DraCo video and graphics workstation at NAB? I read that they were going to present their system using VLAB Motion.

Does anyone know if MovieShop has come out with a newer & better version yet ? Is there any other non-linear editing software package that you can use with VLAB ? To me the this seems to be the only drawback to the VLAB Motion system.

Ed. Thanks for the reply. The magnum is a SCSI 2 device therefore I guess it will perform well. Has anyone seen any report comparing the VLAB motion to others such as Video Machine, Targa 2000, and Radius Videovision? I would like to know if it's on equal terms with…

I have a 2000HD and my understandings is that I should be using a Magnum SCSI / Accelerator board (040) to run VLAB. It's not cheap. I have an opportunity to purchase an Amiga 3000 for less than this SCSI board. Does the SCSI native on the 3000 work well…
