Are you running debug winddows by any chance? We get that message on our development machines, and it appears to be harmless in effect. Read action !reply Enter reply. (/EXIT when done) 1: Hmm. No, I'm not. But come to think of it, maybe that's 2: where *I've* seen it…

chromakey flic/video?
Message #43361
Rick, I believe a reply you left for me regarding Inscriber was " accidently" deleted by the forum sw. So… I did get some info on Inscriber, but am trying to get leads on decent chroma-key (and egenral digital editing) video software to interface flics to video. Do you have…
That is nifty! A random element, to keep you from really knowing what's what!
We want to take video with a bluescreen background and chromakey the flic to fill the bluescreen space. We'll have video source blended with the flic source, going to video out. Our ultimate target is AVI, but I don't know of any way to get there without going back out…

I have a notification of a waiting message, but when I request REA WAI, I get a **deleted** message. Any clue?
#3d studio flc -> amiga?
Message #29802
Is there a way to convert an autodesk 3D studio animation (.flc) to amiga animation format? The goal is to use chromakey on the Ami to mix video and the anim (already built on the pc side). TIA, David
#simple genlock query??
Message #26055
Thanks Chris. Do either the SuperGen or the Toaster fit the bill? We may have access to one of these. – David
simple genlock query??
Message #26050
Here is an elementary video question: what is required to mix a video source (a foreground scene with a single color flat background) and computer generated graphics? The idea is to replace the flat background with the graphics. I assume this can be done with a SuperGen and some software,…
Thanks a lot, Paul. I'll enquire of New Horizons as to features, etc in AmigaVendors. – David

Message #50282
I was referred to ProWrite in response to a query for storyboarding sw in the AmigaArts forum. What are the storyboarding features/functionality of ProWrite? TIA, – David

#Blue Ribbon tel. no.??
Message #22763
Can someone tell me the number for Blue Ribbon (bars & pipes) – I'm away from my stuff and need to contact them. I thought they were in Atlanta but I've had no luck with 411. Thanks – David
Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll go that route. – David
Thanks, I was afraid that was true. – David
#DMCS->midi file?
Message #12917
Is there a conversion utility which will take DMCS files and convert them to standard midi files? I need to carry a score over to another midi platform. Thanks, David
#color printer suggest?

I'm looking for a color printer for graphics output; preferably one that can double as a text printer with laser or inljet quality. Any recommendations? Thanks, David

#FAX/Modem
Message #85259
The external fax modems only require machince specific software. The Abaton fax modem for the Mac is the same hardware that runs on the PC and is sold under the parent company's name (Everex). The same darn thing would run on the Ami – I worked on the PC version…

notation/midi new?
Message #26603
Thanks for the conversion info on copyist – I plan to look at the demo here in the dl's. – DavidR.
Thanks David for your suggestions. I have also been pointed to the Note Processor for IBM which may be promising. I'll check out the demos you mentioned. – DavidR.
Is the omni a high-end model in the range of the magni? sw control of sliders would help any genlock, i'd think – sounds like a good path to pursue!
Thanks for the leads. We'll need to both record and play, so recording will either have to happen at an outside service or off the local deck, if its reasonable and decent quality. I'll check both suggestions – many thanks! –
Thanks alot for the info (and thanks to you other guys too, if you continued the thread). I called GfxBase, and Dale said that it is shipping, @ $395 alone, $495 with 3-button optical mouse, $1395 with Ethernet card.

I agree with you regarding the worth issue; that may not forestall the need, though! SOunds like the conversion is tedious… are the results reasonable?

#AMIGA-FAX
Message #396
Fax requires special hardware to negotiate transmissions. The imaging scheme is a runlength encoding scheme, CCITT t4 compression, and can be dealt with in software like any other compression/decompression task. I've been working with Cygnet Tech on the PC sw for their fax modem (a hayes-compatible with an add-on hw…

midi on 2000
Message #107762
Richard, I want to drive multichannel synths first off; then I'd like to explore the midi zone in general. I guess my initial needs are pretty straightforward, but if there's an interface which offers interesting possibilities for down the line, I'd like to consider it upfront.
