#Amiga UNIX on GVP 040?
Message #87910
I have a G-Force 040 board in an A2000 and I have the opportunity to get an Amiga UNIX tape and boot disks. I've been told it's only for the 030. Is there anything I can do, maybe with CPU options, to make the thing run anyway? Also, although the…
Gary, Thanks for the information. I have a message in with GVP (it's their 040 card) in case they have any other ideas, but I think you're right that this is a hopeless case. Thanks again. Jerry
#UNIX on a 2000?
Message #42155
Hello all. I have gotten an Amiga Unix 2.1 tape and boot disks, thinking that there's got to be a way I can use it on my 2000. I have an 040 board and am running DOS 2.1. The disks come up NDOS and won't boot. Is there something I'm…
GVP, Thanks for the info. If I try it, I'll disconnect the HD first, and I'll let you know what the results were. The only problem I can see is that the PC SCSI card may also be hardcoded for ID 7. Thanks again. Jerry
O.K.,thanks. Jerry
#G Force SCSI question
Message #78473
GVP, I have G Force 040 board and a Quantum HD and CD-ROM connected to the SCSI port. I have the CD terminated. I also have a Bridgeboard with a SCSI card. I've been told that it's possible to hook one long SCSI cable to use the CD-ROM both from…

Message #78379
Has anyone here heard of software that would allow playback of 24 bit animations through an IV24? Thanks in advance.
#Cyrix upgrade on BB?
Message #128784
Has anyone out there tried the Cyrix 486 upgrade for 386sx's on a Bridgeboard yet? It sounds too good to be true, upgrading to a 486 for under $300. I'm interested but I want to make sure there aren't any problems.
Raman, You could be having problems with the diskchange line of the drive. Check the DRIVPARM command in your DOS manual for a line you can add to fix this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Good luck. Jerry
Thanks for all the advice! I went with the Commodore 2386 board. The Vortex board seemed to promise more, but I'd rather have something that Commodore will try to remain compatible with in the future. Thanks again. Jerry
Karl, If you have the same board I do, then there's a jumper on the board that "turns off" the whole board, as if it isn't there. What you should do is wire a switch to it, then before you turn on the Amiga, flip the switch to select which…
Buying a 386/486 emu
Message #84789
I'm considering buying a 386 or 486 PC emulator and I'm wondering whether to go with Commodore, (and possible soup it up with Elite) or whether to go with Vortex. Compatibility is most important to me, and the board should be able to run Windows 3.1 enhanced at a reasonable…
WordPerfect import
Message #49504
Hi. I have PageStream 2.2HL, (soon to be patched) and, unfortunately, WordPerfect for the Amiga. Yeah, I know WP's the pits, but I'm trying to get documents from it into PageStream. I have a filter that claims to import WordPerfect files, but when I select Import Text and specify the…
Thanks for the help. Jerry
BTW, where does the registration card get sent to now? Mine has Precision's Worcester Park address on it. Thanks again.
#SBPro4 & WB 2.04?
Message #38632
I have been using SBPro4 for a while under WB 1.3, and it works very well. Since upgrading to WB 2.04, the Forms Designer now locks up. My system is an A2000 with a GVP 25Mhz 68030 board, and lots of other hardware. Is this an incompatibility with WB 2.0?…
