#47358 Modem Problems Message #47378
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Tech Forum · Forum Business/Help June 26, 1995 5:08 PM
Wouldn't it be easier to do a null modem transfer or perhaps use a DOS filesystem on the Amiga and trasfer via floppy? That was a rhetorical question of course. If you are using Xmodem to do execute the file transfer, then you're probably getting Xmodem padding. I can recommend…
#47288 A1200 Speed-up Message #47376
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Tech Forum · Forum Business/Help June 26, 1995 4:55 PM
Stuffing in a faster crystal will probably not help because there is a good chance that the machine will run erratically if at all. One of the best ways to get better performance out of the A1200 is to ad fast RAM. Fast RAM alone usually buys you 15-30% performance…

Set your serial port parameters to 7 bits, Even parity and 1 stop bit. Compuserve still seems to suffer from 7-bit-itis. Lee Bosch

Re freeze frame luminance problems: My system started doing the opposite to me recently. If I freeze a frame, it shows up in the framestore as a horribly washed out image. A couple of weeks ago, the washed out framestore went away but when I loaded the frame into ToasterPaint,…

About your pointer problem: What version of Workbench are you using? I recall that the problem went away when I upgraded Workbench to a newer version. Lee Bosch – via Whap!
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG August 28, 1994 12:22 PM
Not entirely surprising, AmigaWorld had it bass-ackwards. ADPro works just fine with the Picasso II. The thing that it can't do is "read & save to the Picasso format [presumably file format]" since there isn't one.

You obviously don't remember the jumper on the 2.0 ROM chips. Lee Bosch (would be using Whap! but it gets silly with my Multiface III)

Sounds to me like you have a SCSI termination problem. A friend of mine had a similar problem with his tape backup drive and it turned out that his hard drive was terminated and the tape drive was unterminated and further out on the SCSI bus. Make sure that you've…

The Video Toaster Oven is certainly no A4000T, but it is all you've got if you have an A4000. The A4000T is supposed to have SCSI-II on board which is to die for. Lee Bosch – via Whap!
#53488 Com Transfer Dilemna Message #53836
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG April 2, 1993 1:35 AM
LHA is a MUCH more stable program for use with transferring images across between the Amiga and other platforms. Another benefit is that all the platforms that you might want to use support LHA, but few fully support the ZIP format. Null modem cables work great between the Amiga and…

I had to get on the Internet and FTP it. Look for a file called DCTVLIB3.LHA. Along with the R2R operator, I no longer have to deal with the DCTV software anymore to make the conversions. Now if I could only shake someone up and get a Video Toaster Operator/Loader/Saver……

Nothing quite at simple as that. I correctly named the macros. I have since located the problem: AREXX REQUIRES THAT ALL PROGRAMS OPEN UP WITH A COMMENT. Do I look stupid or what??? I think some mention of that should be made in the ADPro manual. – via Whap!
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG June 13, 1992 5:06 PM
I'm having some problems with the ADPro ARexx interface. It probably stems from a failure to read the documentation. Only the f0.adpro macro seems to want to work. The program reports that it can't find script or some such when I try to execute the supplied macros. Running under 2.04,…

From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · ASDG December 28, 1991 3:34 PM
I think the interface is just fine. I would appreciate a file requester that put directories first though. Khalid's requester works really well from that standpoint and when I'm really hopping around, I will substitute it. Also, it would be real nice if the save requester could use the most…

#28542 Toaster 2.0 Message #28588
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek October 19, 1991 4:35 PM
Is is your understanding that NewTek is refusing the orders directly, or are the distributors refusing the orders for low-priced Video Toasters? I think you should make the distintion clear. I was under the impression that most Video Toaster sales to dealers happened at the distribution level.
#28517 Toaster 2.0 Message #28587
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek October 19, 1991 4:34 PM
A local retailer just bought a Video Toaster at list price because the distributors that he called quoted him $1950 for the standard Video Toaster. I really don't think their charging $700 for the included copy of the Revolution tape, do you?
From: Lee Bosch Amiga Vendor Forum · NewTek August 17, 1991 5:44 PM
Am I doing something wrong, or do I have a top secret version of the Video Toaster software and manual? I have documentation in appendix J (page 139) of the manual for the switcher and a copy of the scripts to run the dealer demo thingy. Oh, I see, it…

Advanced reports given in a few of the popular Amiga magazines have the expansion capability of the A3000T being IDENTICAL to that of the A3000. The only major additions being the much needed space for 5.25" drives (including CD-ROM and other formats that won't be squeezed into the 3.5 footprint)…
