Well here's the problem… I purchased a used GVP HC+8 Series II controller for my Amiga 2000HD rev.6. Along with the board came a Quantum 80 meg hard drive and 4 megs of ram. The board and drive were advertised as working perfectly 3 months ago. I read the instructions…

Duane: It would depend on what my real cost is. I live near Software Hut (but have never been there) and understand I can possably get the chip new for around $25. It sounds like an interesting deal biut let me investigate further. BTW … Didn't Grapevine go belly up…
Mike: I really only need the chip. $50 is a little rich… Thanks
I have access to the disks and manuals. What's your asking price??
My machine is an A2000hd. I think so. How much?
#2.0 rom wanted
Message #185244
I'm looking for a 2.0x rom chip. Anyone have one floating around?
Richard: Your prices do say OBO (or best offer) so I'd like to offer $75 + cod+shipping for the Ram board w/4megs. You Can ship to : Dan Hays 4 Monterry Dr. Newark, DE. 19713-2517 Thanks! I'll be waiting to hear from you. 😀
thanks brian. I'll try to digest that. My electronics doesn't go very far into vacuum tubes let alone computer circuts but I'm not one to spend $200 to get a $50 machine fixed so… I'm having at it. Its beem a learning experience so far. -Dan
Ok jim, I'll try that today and get back to you. 🙂 -Dan
well Jim Its been behaving itself for three days now. I'm not gonna disturb it unless I have to. (Which I will when I have to test that 1000). BTW I tried to test the chip as you suggested but I really dont know how to use the scope. At…
is there a demo version of gpfax that i can try in 1.3 and can a computer illiterate set it up or do I have to mess with startup sequences or whatever??
Funny thing… today for the first time in two weeks it booted up with blue!! I'm so happy!! I hope it lasts! If it doesn't I'll mess with it.
i might let the professionals handle that one. i'm really hoping it's juse the cable… [D [D
thanks jim . i'll try to get the scope out tonight and report back.-D
ok jim I'll try some of that tonight. If I were to just replace the Denise I'd have to buy one because No way will I tear my 2000 apart to swap chips. I'm not that lucky. Is there any difference in those chips? an upgrade maybe? also… as i…
I have a similar problem I guess. I was trying to solve one at a time (my 1000) but what the hell… My 1084S-D1 monitor starts up with no blue color. After a period of time (afways different but usually less than 10 minutes) the blue comes on like normal.…
Sounds like a good test …If only I had a digital joystick! Thanks!
no… the joystick does not work as a mouse. I cant think of any games that require a stick in port one so I havn"t tested it that way but i guess i should investigate…
Well Jim thanks for all your good help. I failed to mention that I've already replaced that Very chip. It was the only thing I could think to do and it was the only chip I could see that was in a direct line only with that port. I dont…
OK heres what I have… I do have 5v on the middle bottom pins of each connector. The joystick works in post #2 when I boot a game. the fire button works in post #2 and the mouse button works in #1. The mouse still WILL NOT move the pointer.…
Ok… I have it apart. This 1000 has the insider 1 meg ram board installed. If the cia chips are on the main circut board I can't see or get to them without removing the ram. Any one ever had to do this? doesn't look easy… Thanks Jim.
Jim, does your print show any 8520 CIA chips ???
Thanks Mike… Know any good distributors?? /ex
I'd sware Don that I looked everywhere for those 8520's. I was kinda mad that I bought them before I took the machine apart, then didn't find them. I'll look again. Thanks…
Thanks for checking! I need a 1084S-D1. I seem to be losing the blue gun in my picture tube. I dont know if they're interchangable.
Thanks I'll have a look around and get back to you.
Thanks jim! I'll check that and get back to you. If the voltage is missing what does that tell us? Problem in that circut? I'll check the voltage THEN ask you where the transistors are …
#WB1.3 Fax Needed
Message #180448
Can anyone help a novice that could REALLY use a fax program that'll work with WB 1.3? IT'd have to be real simple to set up & use. Any suggestions??
WHICH 1084S monitor do you have? I may need parts for mine. There is usually an additional letter on the model # on the back. or the place of manufacture. Thanks!
thanks for the reply! Any idea what these fuses look like and where they may be on the 1000 machine??
I was told that. The CIA chips right? I bought some chips and couldn"t find any of that number in the 1000 machine. I've had to replace those on a 500 I had. I don't know if the 1000 has a different CIA # or what.
#NO MOUSE MOVEMENT !
Message #180326
In times like these when Amiga future looks somewhat uncertain… I've been thinking I'd like to revive my 1000 [D It works fine except the mouse will not move the pointer at all. I have no idea why this is and could use some input from some one. I am…
