Sam >I don't want them to act like a real military officer. I want them to be exciting, interesting and different. If I wanted to watch real military officers all day I'd join the military. That's reasonable. >Just hit a sore spot. Well, I see your point there, but noway…

Sam >anyone find the new startrek boring dumb and somewhat femministic-ish? After 26 years as a computer science career militay officer, I test the Star Trek characters credibility with by attempting to remember actual officers who fit the fictional personalities. James Kirk was the hardest to match. He sort of…

Friends The problem with un"z"ing and un"tar"ing the AcesHigh.iob file from the Syndesis Avalon CD-ROM with WinZip and rendering it in Imagine 3.2 is solved. There was a faulty operator at my keyboard. WinZip supports an option called "TAR LF to CR/LF Conversion." About what John mentioned: "Be sure that…

Hmmm. There is probably a better "tar"ed "z"ed file to use to check a system than that one. Do you happen to know of one which might: be on either 3D-ROM uncompressed and unpacked, and be on Avalon as an imagine/TDDD object?

John, Thanks for offering those utilities. Will call Monday AM. Meanwhile, I have a dumb question that you could help by answering. The 3D object file I using as the repeatable test case is called AcesHigh, which is on your Avalon disk as "objects/tddd/aces_high.tar.z". Both your 3D-ROM disks use "landis/AcesHigh/AcesHigh"…

Friends, I'm having trouble loading Imagine objects from The Syndesis Avalon disk. I undrestand, as pg 1 of the associated book says, that I need a few Unix tools, which I just downloaded via IBMFF, and I appreciate that in the IBM world file names get truncated and that some…

Hi again. I replyed yesterday saying that I sidegraded Amiga Imagine to PC Imagine for $200. Checking my records, I find that I went from Amiga Imagine 2.x to PC Imagine 3.0. So it was an upside grade…. say that to civil enineers and they may freak out trying to…

Thanks for asking about a "side-grade" for Amiga InterChange Users. Syndesis Amiga InterChange and I go way back…My Original 1.4 disk has a low 4 digit ID on it! Look forward to knowing more about your PC product. The Amiga was nice while it lasted but now I model in…

GreG, Thanks for suggesting the Universal Vesa Driver program(s). They seemed to fix my missing VESA driver problems and don't seem to have caused any new ones. Their enclosed known bug report indicates that there is some sort of memory page management problem which may ocurr with chips including my…

Ijust mounted the driver GreG T. suggested for my cirrus chips. It appears to work on my cirrus 54xx chips. If you're keeping score, you'll notice my chip numbers changed. QEMM disagrees with Norton and the VESA driver. Majority says 54xx. Minority says 610/20. The forum that had it was…

Thank you to Martin and GreG for your suggestions on my non-VESA displaying Pentium. Martin asked what video board…Cirrus – GD610/20. GreG suggested getting appropriate drivers. I took a look at my config.sys and didn't see anything that looked like a VESA driver being called up. Looked for DOS drivers…
