Steve, That was it!! I fixed my Xpr callbacks, using your example, and everything started working fine! Thanks for the help!! Kev – "Outside of a dog, a book is Man's best friend." "Inside of a dog, its too dark to read!" – Groucho Marx

Thanks for the tips, Steve!! I'll let you know how everything works out! BTW, for unlink, I just did the following: long __saveds __regargs xfunlink ( char *buf ) { return ( DeleteFile ( buf ) ); } I'll have to look at your example closely to see where I'm…

Steve, thanks for the tip about using WaitIO()! I'll check my code and see how I'm doing it. The setting system time bug shouldn't be a problem. I never set it. I might read it, but I'll never set it. How would you suggest I implement the Xpr callbacks "correctly"…

I am trying to write a telecomm program that uses the Xpr libraries. I have two problems that are killing me. 1) What is the difference between the XprZmodem 2.0 and 2.1 libraries? 2.0 works fine for me, 2.1 crashes miserably. I've looked at the source for both, and I'm…

Phil, What exactly do you need? I see that Bill Hawes has already responded to you, and they don't come more knowledgeable about ARexx than him! Kev – "Outside of a dog, a book is Man's best friend." "Inside of a dog, its too dark to read!" – Groucho Marx

Pat, I managed to find them at a local BBS, but you can go over to the AmigaVend forum and look in MicroSmith's library. They ought to be there. Kev – "Outside of a dog, a book is Man's best friend." "Inside of a dog, its too dark to read!"…
ASyncRun() problem! Message #21904
From: Kevin Ferlazzo Amiga Vendor Forum · MicroSmiths March 1, 1991 12:21 PM
Charlie, I am having some difficulty getting ASyncRun() to execute. I have typed in the example that Scott Ballantyne and you wrote for Transactor volume 1 issue 3, specifically, listing 5, or magic.c. I am using ARP v1.3, installed from the TxEd 2 disk. My system is a stock A2K,…

John, I want to use LPATCH for upgrading some software I am writing. However, I can't find any docs on it in the Lattice C 5.0x docs or the SAS 5.10 update pages. Can you (or anybody else who knows 🙂 point me in the right direction for instructions on…

Bob, Thanks for the reply! Looks like I'll be trying to locate the A68K assembler locally on one of the boards here in the DC area. Thanks! Kev – "Outside of a dog, a book is Man's best friend." "Inside of a dog, its too dark to read!" – Groucho…

Bill, I am having some problems assembling rexxglue.asm from the Developer's subdirectory of the ARexx 1.10 disk. I have to plead near total ignorance about assembly programming, so its probably something real simple 🙂 I am using the SAS 5.10a assembler with the command line : ASM -iINCLUDE: rexxglue.asm The…

Very Wierd, Ben. What version of the motherboard do you have? Mine is 6.2, I believe. Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the law!"
From: Kevin Ferlazzo Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming December 6, 1990 8:23 AM
Ah, that explains why nobody saw the problem! In any case, as noted elsewhere in this thread, the latest version of SetCPU (v1.6) doesn't cause this problem anymore. John, thanks for taking the time to explain this! Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the law!"

Ben, Hmm, very strange! My system is a GVP 68030, 5MB RAM, FlickerFixer, using ARP 1.3, and the latest WShell and ARexx (and a host of other things! Its nice to work for a company that uses Amigas! 🙂 and I haven't had any problem with SetCPU. The hardware has…

Kelly, Hmm, I'll try to zap it today. In fact, one of my co-workers just suggested the same thing. I guess I'm just a little bit leery of zapping other peoples code! 🙂 Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the law!"
From: Kevin Ferlazzo Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming December 3, 1990 1:03 PM
Very true about SetCPU being "unofficial" software, Ben. My comment was meant to say "I don't know of anybody with an accelerated Amiga who ISN'T using SetCPU" and to express my surprise that the testers at SAS apparently aren't using SetCPU. Clear as Mud?? Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not…
From: Kevin Ferlazzo Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming December 2, 1990 12:07 AM
John, I am curious, though, as to why no mention of this was in the docs. SetCPU seems to me like a very common piece of an accelerated machines package. Well, as you know, all's well that ends! Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the…

John, I'll try that right now, hold on a sec . . . OK, that fixed it!! The BUILD icon works now, just as advertised! Thanks a lot John! Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the law!"
From: Kevin Ferlazzo Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming December 1, 1990 7:43 AM
Bill, John Toebes gave me the solution! It seems that SetCPU was renaming the Workbench screen to Fastbench, which kept the software from working. The fix was simply adding "NOPATCH" to the SetCPU argument line. The bad part is of course that now my drives are clicking again. 🙂 Kev…

Ahh, but the problem is that the judge is moving at near-c as well! This is, of course, the real reason behind the _perceived_ slowness of the judicial system in America! 😉 Kev "300,000 km/sec – It's not just a good idea, its the law!"

Herbert, Taking your suggestions in order: 1) Checking the required assignments and paths was the first thing I looked at! 2) I haven't tried BUILD with only one source file, I had run SASCSETUP on an existing project with about 10 – 15 source files. I'll try it tonite! Of…

Bill, I've gotta question for you! 🙂 I'm testing out the AShell from ARP v1.3 with Conman 1.3, and opened a new shell with the command: ashell "con:/1/300/100/test/c" It opened the Ashell with the close gadget, as I had wanted, but the close gadget is only partly functional. Clicking on…

Cheath, I just tried INFO DATES on my system (A2000, 5MB, with the latest versions of ARexx, WSHell, ARP, and POPCLI running in the background) and it hung forever before a Ctrl-C got me out. It broke out about 45 seconds AFTER I hit the Ctrl-C, too! So there is…
