Amiga Networking Message #153343
From: Mike Lehman Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware June 21, 1994 8:18 AM
Anyone know of an Ethernet board that I could use to hook my 3000 into my local TCP/IP network (PC's and Mac's). I know I've got to have the AmiTCP software (which I've got) but I've been out of the Amiga hardware loop for some time now and don't know…

Yes, 4.09 is the latest version. I'm still trying to decide if it is financially feasible to put further work into the product. If I do decide to make an upgrade I've got considerable work to do to bring it up to the latest style guide standards, etc.

John, MaxiPlan allocates memory for spreadsheet cells in, I think 16K blocks. Then then uses them as necessary and frees pieces as you process cells. The program keeps track of all its allocations and releases all the unused space when the program completes. This was done, (ancient history) because the…

Folks, 1. MaxiPlan DOES have an ARexx port. 2. At this time there is no longer distribution for MaxiPlan. If you are interested in updates/upgrades please let me know at: 1199 Forest Ave Suite 264 Pacific Grove, CA 93950 Attn: MaxiPlan 3. The reason MaxiPlan gives so many 'Memory' "errors"…

Larry, the Soundblaster (digitized sound, FM synthesis, MIDI port, etc) card for PC-clones has a PROPRIETARY interface (not SCSI). Made to work with a particular Chinon brand drive. Drives that work with the ProAudio Spectrum are, however, SCSI. – Mike Lehman, author of CD+G for CDTV.
#12409 CDTV Tech Questions Message #12568
From: Mike Lehman Amiga Tech Forum · Forum Business/Help July 28, 1991 12:41 AM
Pat, Having worked on the CDTV ROM I can tell you that the ROM is 1.3. Workbench 2.0 requires Kickstart 2.0 which is not in the ROM. Not having any official affiliation with CBM at this time I can only speculate that perhaps a future CDTV may support 2.0 but…

Ray, you need to use the OBJECT() function. You pass it the id of the object in question (such as OBJECT(15)) and it will indirectly reference it. When a button is clicked and sets itself on the global variable "ME" is set to the id of the button clicked so…

The way you do that facility with UC is to code your script to talk back to UC and store the results you need into a UC variable directly. We are working on a more tightly coupled link to be available in a near term future release now that ARexx…

Bob, I appreciate your comments. It does say in the documentation, which I admit is discontiguous (to say the least), that you can in-fact talk to UC from ARexx. It listens on its ARexx port (ULTRA1) for any UltraTalk command. The reason we run ARexx scripts the way we do…

Tom, UltraCard has always been an ARexx Host in that it has always talked out to and listened to ARexx messages. You do it with a stack or maybe I don't understand what you mean by an ARexx host. Mike

Ray, you MUST have all the sound files in ULTRA:STACKS IF you don't then you will get the "not enough memory to load sound" msg. If that's not the problem please let me know. Mike

UltraCard also uses the AMIGA OPERATING SYSTEM. UltraCard does NOT "MONITOR MOUSE MESSAGES" it simply waits, just like CAN-DO for a message from the OS. ULTRACARD is very multi-tasking! Try to think of something else but don't speak to what you don't really know!

Thanks. We are quite excited and expect performance to improve substantially as we switch from Manx to Lattice with register parameters. We just couldn't justify making the compiler switch until we shipped the first version.

UltraCard v.s. HyperCard stacks. Apple has not released (and I am a Mac developer too) the format for HyperCard stacks. They don't want other systems to be able to read the format. Maybe in the future we will attempt to reverse engineer it but for now we just want to…
