Digital Palette 3000, but what I have does serve conventional slides fine. Also upgrading is a severe money problem at the moment. FL
In that case, I'd guess you have to mount it as DH0: but then that would conflict, wouldn't it?
Software trade
Message #10552
Gentles and ladies, due to the 2nd AMUSE christmas party, I now have an extra copy of Magellan with original disks and manuals. I would like to trade for some other software or maybe a couple of good games. Top interests for trades follow: Alternative program to drive Polaroid Palette,…
I personally would not recommend trying to upgrade the 1000 THAT far. It may be good for a backup machine per sa, but it seems to be getting pretty tired from what you describe and also the upgrade is a bit of a kludge and may not be as reliable…
Don, Maybe the extra rom is simply their for a boot toggle option between Unix and AmigaDOS, the other rom would be KS 2.0 when it's finalised, I guess. FL
Steven, I make slides from Amiga Images using the Imprint/Palette system although a hefty hardware investment does yield superior images to shooting off the monitor screen. At present, I can handle anything up to and icluding HAM and 640×400, however I do intend to upgrade to 24bit files in the…

#Expanding an A3000!
Message #5798
Isn't a simple workaround to simply assign DH0: to Work: (or whatever)?
Then again if you're in a money crunch or have ST-506 drives you want to use, consider the Amiga Loads Faster A.L.F. controllers. FL
Been comparing stats between FC24 and Targa/Vista, perhaps a more appropriate head to head comparison since it's a framebuffer/framebuffer vs. framebuffer/super video engine and whatnot. Considering that Vista boards have up to 16 megs of display memory isn't the FC a bit hobbled at 2 megs? I've seen byte sizes…
#24 bit graphics
Message #9485
Ben, if I'm right, your board is going for the same comparable prices that PC users spend on boards for EGA/VGA sans monitor and sound boards, have you spoken to game makers about supporting it so the Amiga can have gaems that fairly whip IBM VGA? BTW, what are the…

Ben, Superbitmaps? yes, that does interest me quite a bit. FL
Ben, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one important limitation of Ham-E is it's limitation to lo-res images? FL
MegaD-Ram disk bug
Message #8645
I've got a big bug with MegaD. Everytime I try to click on Ram: it reads the disk/directory that I have installed it in. Even typing Ram: or Ram Disk: doesn't seem to help. I can still dir ram: using DOS or JPDirUtil and do all the other things with…
I wasn't thinkig about it seriously, I was more tempted by the 1000's in the original boxes (albeit battered boxes). I was irked though when they asked $400 for the demo 1000 and that didn't include the 256k ram expansion. They've got a few of the latter still in the…
I have it's close cousin the AST6Pack Premium and after a bit of tinking about,it works just fine. I have 512k on the board which gives me 384 above 640. I decided to put a pseudo hard disk in this area using the AST software. The only caveat, is that…
Pete, in my area I have 2 nodes, one listed at 2400, the other at 1200, only they work vice-versa. Try it, you just might get lucky. frank
That could be the case Ron, except that I suspect they never did trade-ins. The 2000HD that's been on demo is an old nonautobooting machine and the only controller cards they have is a 2090A. BTW, is it worth purchasing perhaps for a later tradeup? I doubt it, just wondering.…
No, I'm talking about the latter one. Never knew there was more than one. Right now it's open on a temporary Going Out of Buisness License. They also have a couple of A1000's still in the original boxes. I wonder if you buy them now, since they would be "new".…
Rad, I have an old style Digi-View hardware with the NewTek adaptor for my A2000. Am I losing anything by not having the new "Gold" hardware for the 500/2000 series? FL
Here's a few amusing bits on the Continued slow death of an Amiga Dealership. Camera World's on it's last legs and here's a doozy. Commedore 1300 genlocks for 189, A1000 256k ram boards for about 200. and two whole boxfuls of Textcraft selling for 92 cents each still in the…
You can do it by including a requestor that has the user locate the applicable sequence for you or click on a default setting like DH0:S or DF0:S etc.
Daryl, I might have confused it with the PC Powerboard which doesn't have full CGA. FL
I'd much rather see a true Bridgeboard clone which supports Janus and PC Slots.
I'm not sure what you're referring to, anyway with the AtOnce card, the most you could get would be CGA and the particular mono interlaced modes, AtOnce in it's prsent form does not support the PC slots. FL
You assume correctly. I have a Plus HardCard 20 which I got for $125. At the Secacous PC show, last Sunday, I saw a 40 meg version for $350 with box and everything. Both are XT drives. Plus does make 16 bit versions as well.
I do now. Can anyone give me 200? 100? 1? If not, Brian Simmons comes away with a guaranteed never to rust No-Prize! FL
I use AMYXfer myself which is a shell for binary Aread/Awrite transfers. It's worked all right for me, except when I wanted text transferred with the conversions. In that case I either transfer singly using aread/write or convert it on the Amiga side.

I bought a used Plus Hardcard 20 at Trenton for a good price. It serves mme well as both a C: drive and a Janus partition. Opposed to most other options, it only takes up one slot.
Clint, From what I've read, Miranda has some of the neates geography. From what I gather, Miranda and the other Uranian moons may have been blasted apart and reassembled do to violent relaxation of the tilted satelite orbits following the cataclysm which tilted Uranus on its side. By any chance…
Also consider for 2000 and 3000 users a true Bridgeboard clone which would utilise the PC slots. With a ribbon cable, you could still use 68000 access. FL
#ATonce 286 card ?
Message #6175
Herr Reinhardt Since ATonce does use the Amy hardware, could we see a CGA mode as well? Support for Janus utilities would be nice, and to get real greedy use the custom chips to emulate a PC soundboard like say, Adlib? 🙂 FL

Prodigy is available for the Mac, and maybe the Apple 2GS. According to a Bandito rumor, Commedore was sniffing about Prodigy for CDTV. If that happens, an Amiga port could be done easy as breathing.
Steve, You must not be updated either, I have 2849 and it's 3.11. I also have my card sitting to the left of my 2002 where it's been for the last 14 months. FL

From what I see, a four color PC color screen should be no extra color especially if it's residing on workbench which I believe is the main reason for the recomendation. I typically use an eight-color CGA screen and haven't really had that much of a slowdown problem even on…

Betty, Will it work on things like VTX On-Line which apparantly doesn't have what Access and Jr-Comm do in order to run with whap! I currently use Whapterm for QAD checkfree inquiries and Cocomm for foroums, I'd like to occasionally use VTX for the rare desires I get to view…
In addition to file conversion, you would need MAC-2-DOS and a mac drive on the 500 to put the files on a mac drive. I'd say also that Interlink is definitely the way to go for the file conversion itself.
#Purchase Pagesetter?
Message #833
A dealer in my area is being closed down for unethical buisness practises. On his 50% closeout shelf, he has PageSetter 1.0 going for $30. I don't have any DTP programs yet so I was thinking of getting it. Does anyone here use it and have an opinion? and second,…
I use 1.2 Kickstart and the Bridge works fine no matter where I place Binddrivers. It's currently my or fourth executed command after SetPatch, Echo, and FastmemFirst. Then later on DJMount. Eventually after the Janus drive comes on line, I click on and icon to do the reassigns.
Yes Betty so I've gathered. Although I don't know the turnaround for door prizes I'm starting to wonder why mine hasn't shown up yet. It's been awhile since the DAS con.

Clint; If you can, get a hold of the data on Miranda one of the Uranian satelities photographed during the Voyager encounter. It's believed that the moon was once blasted apart and slowly put back together. It has the weirdest collection of feautures in the solar system. BTW, if I'm…

Betty, I saw the demo cartoon running in a store window in NYC and am looking forward to playing with my door prize when the mail brings it home. Frank
