I know of no such browser for the Amiga. Steve
Shouldn't that thread title be "Todor really rich now?" 🙂
Hi, Vic. You should download IINST151.LHA. This is a quick way to get your PPP software set up for you.
Sure, that would be fine.
What's a proxy server good for? Lots of stuff. If you're developing your own protocols, a browser with a generic proxy server can let you test those protocols without modifications to the browser. Most people don't do that sort of thing though. 🙂 On networks with firewalls to the Internet,…
We're always interested in new things for the library. Upload away!
I'm not sure about the way it works in AMosaic, but for releases of Mosaic for X Window version 2.7b1 and earlier this is how it works: Setting http_proxy tells the browser to send all URLs that start with "http" to a special proxy server that makes the URL requests…
Hey, cool! I didn't know you were messing around with Java these days. Have anything on your web site yet? Try: http://www.vectorman.com/ with your HotJava browser, for a pretty impressive applet.
Yup, I'm sure. I run it on Win95 every day, along with Java on Sun workstations. It's been out for weeks. I do my Java development on the Sun, though. The last I heard a Linux version exists, but it's very very unstable and needs a lot of work. (That's…
Wow! Busy, busy! I'm amazed you're online! 🙂 Hope the baby is OK!
Oops… you sent that message to yourself!
"… all the bugs are YOURS!" ..unless, of course, there's a bug in the assembler. 🙂 "Isn't it LOGICAL to speak the language of the computer instead of learning another language that is ultimately translated to machine language anyway?" Not necessarily. For example, I can program in Java, and it…
That's not how MPEG works. Every few frames are normal pictures. The frames between are special frames.

A firewall is a system that protects an internal network from an external network. When I say "system" I mean either a software package, a hardware package, or a combination of the two.
If you're looking for software for your IBM PC to emulate the Amiga so that you can run Amiga software, you're out of luck. There is no such thing.
The site is at java.sun.com. Chuck McManis (an Amiga guy from way back) is doing most (if not all) of the security work on this stuff. Since Java has no concept of pointers, how would a task go about finding something in the system, even in a machine without an…
There were a couple for sale a few days (a week?) ago. Try looking through the old postings to see if they're still there.
> I take it that the lack of pointer arithmetic is for security reasons? Yes. The Java group also stated in the docs that it tends to lead to bugs in software.

You (or anyone) can obtain more info about the Hot Java port by subscribing to the mailing list that talks about the port. I don't have the info handy, but you can find in on http://java.sun.com
The Foley, Van Damm, et al. book Principles of Computer Graphics has an edition out with it's examples in C. It's a general topic computer graphics book.
Some UPS products aren't made for laser printers.
We're getting ISDN at home within a few weeks too. I'd like to compare notes with you about how well it works once I get it here. Do you have it connected to the Internet through this ISDN line? Or are you directly connected to the place you work?
Probably not, but it's a heck of a price for storage. 🙂
Geeze, this things are dropping in price fast. I saw a 4 gig drive advertised on ISN (Internet shopping network) for $699.
You need the program LHA138.RUN, which is available in library 14.
LHA is available in library 14: LHA138.RUN
You need to use LHA to decompress those archives. LZ won't handle them. LHA is available in library 14: LHA138.RUN
Yes, you can download NCSA Mosaic from the Internet Resources forum. The current release is quite good!
> "Internet in a box" (can I say that on CIS 😉 ) Sure! CompuServe owns the company that makes that product!
Glad you had fun on vacation! Welcome back! Steve
My suggestion is to go ahead and do that backup before you do anything to that drive. If you use one of the disk fixing utilities (we have some in AmigaUser) and it screws up for some reason, you'll lose your data. Steve
What PC formats does Prowrite export to? If it can export to a PC format, you can use MessyDOS (in the libraries) to write the exported files to a 720K disk, and then load them into the PC.
No, I'm sorry. I looked and I couldn't tell what the original source base is. Steve
Try the AmigaUser Forum in the Hot News and Rumors, Ramblings, and Soapbox sections.

Check out the files in AmigaUser. There are several BBS packages in the telecommunications library.
AmigaWorld is gone.
Amazing Computing still exists.
You need to decode them using UUDECODE. There are programs to do this in the AmigaUser libraries.
