I'd probably pay 20-30- dollars extra.
However, being a Grad. Student, I'd end up taking the cheaper way out and going
CP. I like the idea of non-CP ware for using with a hard disk, but I doubt
that I will buy a hard disk for a long time,
So, the only benefit (for me) in non-CP software is that CP sometimes is
dangerous to the drive. I would recommend that whoever puts out CP stuff
states any obvious dangers on the label. Like,
"Software is Copy Protected, attempts at copying can cause damage to your
system."
Companies have been known to booby-trap CP stuff to either erase the master
disk, or (smaller companies) to crash the drive by slamming the head in and out
rapidly. I think CP warning labels woild be a good idea.
I have never had any problem with CP ware for my 64, except that it takes a bit
longer to load.
