Not necessarily. One could purchase the laptop sans OS and chips, then
purchase a bare A500 (even cheaper used) and get the chips from that. A
used A500 would most likely be out of warranty anyway, and the chips and OS
would still be in use on only one computer. I'm not sure whether this would
be technically illegal or not, but I wouldn't think it would.
