Wayne – In addition to Pat's response: it also won't stop the folks who picked your particular sequence of numbers at random, and kept them around because they felt you were a good "mark". Just a couple of weeks ago, some young kids managed to erase my outgoing answering machine message by random dialing (I couldn't believe it either, 'cept I had proff it happened 8^) ). I have one of those machine that one can program remotely from a touch-tone phone. The kids randomly dialed my number, then after it answered again randomly hit my entry code, then hit the number that says "rerecord the outgoing message". I called my machine later that day (at that point I had no idea it had been changed) and was surprised to hear some little kids saying "Hello?". I hung up and dialed back, and the exact same thing happened, at which point I deduced that they'd erased my message. It was so wierd that I coudn't get upset, I just laughed. Harry
