The different speeds only apply when you're using the lattice encoding of the USR proprietary techniques. As 2400 baud modems, they can work just like a Hayes modem, no difference at all. If they aren't working, they're probably just not configured right. There is a slew of NVRAM "soft-switches" as well as real dip-switches which configure the modem. For details, I suggest the manual – but you CAN get them to work this way. –Ben
