Do you see pattern developing here? It seems that whenever the issue
of COMPUTE's Amiga content or distribution comes up, a sub-thread of
resentment starts rolling on and on.
Well, I know this is no consolation but, <bonk!> Homey don' play dat!
Magazines don't make it when they're perceived as market-driven
entities, rather than simply an information 'service' (or 'resource',
if you will). While the Amiga community has all but forgotten you
and your Amiga subscriptions dwindle, the significance of your
service to this community as an editor of Compute is drifting from
minimal to ridiculous. COMPUTE is only taking away a small piece of
the subscription pie from the REAL Amiga publications that work to
keep 'Amiga' visible in large type at newsstands. I believe your job
at COMPUTE is increasingly a waste of the talent I enjoyed in Amiga
Resource years ago; Once a magazine snubs a platform the way COMPUTE
has with the Amiga, you can be sure the coverage will never flourish
again.
BTW – I've had subscriptions to COMPUTE! and later Amiga Resource,
which I _really_ enjoyed. I don't think COMPUTE is ashamed of
anything, but I also don't think they care. I hope someday you are
able to find a position at AmigaWorld, A.C. or .info.
