ABout Jpeg on the mac: There's a nice Jpeg compressor that comes with the
Quicktime CD rom . Not true JFIF files, but I'm working (or not) on
"fixing" the file up to be legible by ImagePro. A bit tricky, since I don't
have any JFIF specs! So, My guess is that JPEG of some sort will be cheap
and plentiful for the Mac, as Quicktime makes its way into the mainstream.
BTW, Apple wants quicktime to be a multi platform standard, so anyone
interested in doing the QT-ANIM5/ANIM5-QT convert tools? Stop looking at
me! Actually Quick time is more comprehensive than ANims, since it's
designed to degrade in an orderly way, and you can control several media
with different priorities (not just audio and video, but MIDI and user
callable functions can be synched to the quicktime timeline). Maybe we
could use a real quicktime player and builder?
