#Ami buyer scared off!!
Dave,
I need to ask you this–where were the sales people? If you come into my
store and want to see the A4000–I demo it. I have demo's loaded and a
regular presentation that is designed to knock-the-socks off of anyone who
dare enter! My favorite people to demo too are the people who have dealt
with PCs on a regular basis, and I like it even better when they
understand something about the PC.
After I demo the system, I then let you 'play' with it until you are tired
of it without me hovering. However, once you leave the system I work to
close the sale. The transfer of excitement is the key to selling an
Amiga. I fault your dealership for not taking an active role in the
sale.
On the other hand, I constantly battle the demo machine because customers
think it is fun to re-arrange, delete and destroy Workbench settings.
Perhaps that A4000 had been hosed by a prior Amiga wannabe?
One can never tell. Your friend needs to be educated about how video and
the Amiga works. After the education I usually give, they are *happy*
that the 800×600 mode flickers.
It is all in how it is done. 😉
