Having been laid off almost a year ago, my financial resources are running right out the bottom, yet I still am extraordinarily eager to buy a copy of 3-D Studio v. 2. There's no conceivable way that I can afford $2995, but I want to proceed legitimately and have checked with Autodesk Customer Service re the following approach: If I can find anyone who bought 3-D Studio release 1 and no longer uses it nor plans to, NOR has upgraded it using that serial number, if I could find such a person and BUY their old set, or even just Disk # 1 and transfer ownership of that serial number, I could then upgrade to release 2.0 at a much reduced cost. I know it's very unlikely that such a person exists, especially on THIS forum, populated by avid 3-D users, but maybe one of you knows of someone who bought it, tried, it, and didn't get into it.If you could put me in touch with such a person, maybe we could work out some sort of complimentary purchase. At any rate, that is my ONLY hope of getting 3-D Studio, and I DO wish that Autodesk didn't price it so astronomically high. Thanks for any help or advice anyone can provide. Pete Fisher PS – I DO own Animator Pro, Sketch, Chaos, CA-LAB and most of the Autodesk Retail products; it's just 3-D studio that's so totally beyond my reach.
