Gus –
I've been playing with Phar Lap 5.0 for a while now (ok about a week and a
half)<g>. Ran into a number of small bugs with trying to link more than 100
modules (we link around 900). Called up, left a message, and was called back
in about 20 minutes. Sent me a 5.1 beta right then and there over the modem.
Good response. Fixed that problem right up.
Still have a small bug with the Assembler with IF contructs, but they claim
that have a fix for it also.
Basically, they are going to ship 5.1 in a couple of weeks. I would wait for
it.
Yes, Phar Lap is the Dos extender in the new visual C++ (dos version of
compiler). MASM v6.1 is using Phar Lap also. It's about time Microsoft gave
up on their own internal dos extender – pure garbage.
All in all, I think the new version of Phar Lap is a winner.
