Thanks for your reply. Everything was installed properly. There may be some
problems with the Mediavison PAS 16 card and the NEC 74 cdrom. I have found
another person with the same setup who had the same problem. Mine eventually
worked out, but even that process was weird.
I didn't buy this as a kit. I bought the sound card 6 months ago, and got the
cdrom drive last week. The connector cables arrived somewhere in the middle.
Manufacturers make minor hardware changes, which could possibly cause
variations in performance with different age hardware. It's all a vast grey
area.
