I suppose my bottom line arguement for anyone comtemplating a CD ROM purchase
wouild be to getsomething that has a TRUE scsi or SCSI-2 interface. For
instance if you want to put a proprietary interface card on something like os/2
or probably NT it will not work well/if at all. It will also be more adaptable
to other systems you might put it in, IE a laptop etc. If you gonna spend 339,
spend 499 and geta Toshiba 3401 or try and find a clean used NEC or Texel. You
won't get all the titles with it, but buy whatever you get for the drive and
not the titles. I CAN assure you tha that those extra special offers for cd's
with drives tend to be last years editions and as cd players have improved so
have the CD's themselves.
