JJ sr. (gramps for short.. <BG>) >Does this mean you finally bought 3D Studio? Anyday now!! 🙂 Just getting prepared.. I just installed a Texel CD-ROM drive (and a Sound Blaster ASP SCSII-2 for good measure) so I could play games, um.. I mean get 3DS. <g> And, in the spirit of things, bought a Maxtor 540 MB 8.5ms drive as well. <g> I needed more growing room. I have $800 budgeted for 3D stuff, but found that the student version is now $1000 retail.. instead of $500. 🙁 The promotional price ended less than a week ago! But I found it in a local college bookstore for $749, so I think that will have to do. I won't be able to get any new IPAS' for a while then.. (hence the free-be question) I was planning to get the skinning one coming out, but it'll have to wait. Anyways, it's much better than the full price, so I can't complain. But I guess I'll pay my dues for R4… (and my compuserve bill.. <g>) Next week is Spring Break, and I'll probably be glued to the computer, playing with 3DS. The tutorials should fill that week quite completely <g>. 40 hours they say?? Getting those done should be a rewarding experience. But who knows? I may just blow off the whole week and do something perfectly pointless like the rest my age. You'll know when I get it. I'll throw a virtual party. Just too bad about the IPAS'. I was looking forward to playing with gasses, fire, and skinning things. I'm not sure how to do my character stuff now. I guess I'll have to do it the hard way, or use my old Playmation.
