No dought the easy cloning of the IBM PC's is what set off the clone
explosion, but it was still because of the initials IBM that they chose to
clone that particular model, and because IBM jumped into the market before
CBM did. Remember at that time CBM was still selling the C-64/128 series,
not a very professional computer. But when CBM did release the Amiga, it
was too late for them to make an impact on the market. The masses had
already been brainwashed into believing that the PC was THE computer, not
because it was technologically superior, but because everyone had one so
people automatically think "Gee, if most of my friends have a PC, then it
must be better!". Yeah, right <grin>. But enough computer bashing for now.
Actually the best computer is the one you are using at this time. People
have different ideas on what they think is the right computer. I use a 286
clone at work because I'm forced to, but a Amiga 3000 at home because I
like it 8^) And I'm sure you feel the same way about your computer also.
