Yes… I saw the "60 Minutes" bit on the college professors. Made me spit out some good chicken salad which I was eating. Years ago, on occasion I was asked to lecture at Penn State U. I met many of their faculty, and I do confirm that their greatest concern was for themselves, their tenure and income… not the students. Am afraid that I tend to blame the situation on the present idea that "money" is the ultimate reward. The word "need" is now replaced by the more modern "GREED". Rather like Rome in the days before the "Decline and Fall" (Gibbons). Is there a warning there? Unless one studies history… and learns from it, you are condemned to repeat its mistakes.
