"Additional funding provided by BYTE Magazine" I think that qualifies as
affiliation.
Is having the AMIGA treated like a peripheral so bad? Yeah I think it is.
The AMIGA is sorely lacking in the respect area, I don't think being
considered a peripheral for some anemic PC is going to help matters. With
my dealings with the MAC & PC crowds in my area, I don't foresee any AMIGA
converstions. The mac & pc people are SO anti AMIGA in my area, it's like
being in a war zone. The PROBLEM, IMO, is not that there are MAC & PC
"Toasters", I have no real problem with that. I DO have a problem with
NEWTEK and many different publications who seem to go out of their way to
hide what the MAC & PC toaster really are. I would think any AMIGA user who
gives a rats rear about his or her machine, would get a little upset at the
continual snubbing it gets in reviews of the mac or pc toaster. If this
happened once or twice, well maybe I could write it off to just idiotic
reviewers and or bad journalism, but it seems that every other week we hear
another story about a review of the toaster, or a story about multimedia,
and the AMIGA not being mentioned! Since the word ADVERTISE is apparently
not part of C='s vocabulary, I think the AMIGA is missing out on a large
number of free plugs, and the opportunity to gain some MUCH needed respect
is slipping away. I don't claim to have all the answers, nor do I claim to
be an AMIGA expert, I'm just a proud AMIGA user who's sick of the crap. If
this makes me a "paranoid BBS denizen" or whatever, so be it. I'd much
rather make some noise and try to change things than to sit back and be
some apathetic bump on a log!
