I don't entirely disagree with you either, but I have a little different slant on the subject (I was in aerospace). The British, even more than most European countries, have a very limited procurement budget. It is often the case that their aerospace industry can supply considerably more advanced items than are currently deployed in their military. These items may then be exported in order to keep the company alive. Remember, the original Harrier (A series) didn't even have radar. It wasn't because the British didn't know how to build it. <G> -Karl
