I wouldn't buy an Intel Aboveboard myself; far too expensive. I paid, as I recall, about $150 for a 512K expansion board by a "clone" company whose name I forget. Works flawlessly so far (about six months or more.) One should recall that expanding a PC above 640K involves additional messy circuitry. Such an artificial barrier doesn't exist in the Amiga. In any case, I question whether every clone maker expects to sell 250,000 pieces in the crowded IBM market. All things considered, the ratio of hardware makers to Amiga owners is probably far lower than IBM hardware makers to IBM PC owners. Thus more market exists (right now), relatively, and perhaps in absolute terms, since many PC owners already have all the memory they need, but not Amiga owners.
